It's been 2 years when the pandemic had kicked into our lives and kept postponing our contents on the bucket list which kept increasing over the time. Being a mountain lover I couldn't wait any longer to make myself lost in these mountains again.
A long awaited trip with my classmates which was planned since the day of graduation (Pre-Pandemic) was now seem to be happening and it was Jibhi .
This Place Jibhi is an absolute hidden treasure in the Himachal as most of the people didn't know about this place. So we thought we should give a try and experience along with Manali.
On the Month of May We started Our trip from Mumbai by Air to Delhi and we had our Volvo bus at night from Delhi to Jibhi.
Delhi to Jibhi :
Delhi to Aut ( By Bus) --> 1500/- per person
Aut to Jibhi (By Cab/ Local Bus) --> 1500/Cab .
Its been an absolute bliss while witnessing the sunrise while our way to Aut. Its absolutely mesmerizing.
During our trip we were having rest stop at this place. The weather and the ambient and the fresh air now clearly giving us the real vibes of getting into the blanket of Himachal.
We reached Aut by 9:30am and took our breakfast with this beautiful view of Beas river along side the restaurant.
Prices are here reasonable as compared to other tourist places.
This is the beautiful place where we crashed for 3 days. It's covered with everything you need to have in the mountains.
The place itself has its own vibe and you all can Relax and Chill for days without even going out from here.
It has 2 private cabins and 4 dorm bed cabins. We had booked for 8-bed dorm cabin @600/- per person per night.
It has its own kitchen, serves liquors as per demand.
Bonfire is there every night. You can play games and have your experience shared with other travellers also.
The first stop on Day-1 at Jibhi.
This is situated 1km away from Jibhi Market. Its a very quiet place and you can feel that peace when you are there. Those music of birds chirping will be a treat to your ears.
The area has parking place and the entry fee is 20/- per person.
This place is situated at Kulhi Katandi near the center of jibhi. It is a 200 meter short trek from kulhi katandi .
It is located at Alka Dev river side of Jibhi. There are two shoulders at river side make it appear like a cave which resembles to Pattaya, Thailand. That's why it is called mini thailand.
It is about 12 kms from Jibhi and it is the center point for the way to Serolsar Lake and Raghupur Fort .
It is 10,000 ft above sea level.
You can reach here by local bus or cabs. Local bus is available from Jibhi from 8 AM and the last bus from jalori pass leaves by 3 PM.
Cab hire will cost you 2000/- to 2500/- (Fixed cost varies between size of Cab)
Before starting the trek you can have refreshments there at cafes available. Rajma Chawal, Parathas, Bread Omlete , Masala Maggie , Tea , Coffee are available.
We started our trek around 10:30 AM to serolsar lake. It is a 5km trek to lake. The trek path is mostly uniform with few up and downs make it a moderate trek for everyone.
It will take around 2hrs to reach the lake. On the way you can witness many old structures and nature landscapes which makes it totally worthy.
On the way there are many cafe huts will serve you for refreshments like Maggie, Varieties of Tea, Rajma Chawal , Momos etc.
After 2 hrs of long trek , we finally reached Serolsar Lake (Saryolsar Lake)
Altitude: 10,496 ft.
Its absolutely beautiful to witness this lake with Partial Golden shade of the Sun. It remains clean always. As per locals , there are birds who take out things if anything seen floating on the lake to make it clean.
There is "Mata Budhi Nagin Temple" is situated just adjacent to the lake.
It is believed that Serolsar Lake is the residence of Budhi Nagin which means "Mother of all Nag" Deities of Himachal like SheshNag, GhundaNag, MahuNag, KamruNag.
The Temple itself is very beautiful.
With this we had ended our Day-2 .
Raghupur Fort is situated at the opposite direction to Serolsar Lake at Jalori Pass.
Elevation : 11,000 ft (Approx)
It is the best place in our entire 6 days trip. We haven't witnessed anything like this. The trek is about 5 km but the trek is stiff while you progress the climb. It will take around 1.15 hrs to reach to the top and the 360 degree views will absolutely blow your mind.
This was the last place in Jibhi for us. The Place is very off-beat and quiet unexplored as tourist footprint is less in this village. Due to less crowd we were able to enjoy this hidden beauty for last 3 days .
We would like to thank Whoopers Jibhi for their amazing hospitality throughout our entire stay and the people there at the hostels. We had made some good friends and got to know experiences from travellers who were exploring there for past 2-3 months. Its all together an amazing experience.
On our way back to Manali, We stopped for River Rafting at Kullu. It was hell of a lifetime experience for all of us.
Of course !! Manali is a famous place. So it is expected to be more crowded from where we came from... Its just gives a vibe of normal city within in between the hills surrounded.
Mall Road has been the centre point for all the tourists as it has all kind of outlets and restraunts for tourists to enjoy.
Our stay continues to be with this brand and we were referred to this newly opened Hostel from Jibhi itself.
It has this unique theme from Netflix's most popular series " The Squid Game".
The Theme and Ambiance has been great at night. Also the staffs have been co-operative for all the guest requirements.
It is also located far from the centre of Manali, giving you a peaceful environment to relax at night from all the city life .
If coming with friends, A Road Trip is must between the Himalayas. So we rented 2 Royal Enfield Himalayan and started our day towards Atal Tunnel.
The famous Atal tunnel which is a 9.02 kms stretch has been an experience to remember.
It is the longest tunnel at 10,000 ft. in the world as of now. The tunnel connects to Sissu, Rohtang and Leh regions with lesser travel time.
In the month of May, you will only find melting snow at Rohtang and in Baralachha Pass as well.
We couldn't get past this point as 2 wheeler was not allowed beyond this point due to weather issues.
On our way back to Manali, we decided to take the paragliding adventure sport. It is truly a once in a lifetime experience if you haven't done it.
Paragliding from the highest point will cost about 3500/- per person.
With this we ended our road trip in Himalayas.
It was our final day as we were departing at Night to New Delhi. So we decided to spend some time in local sight seeing and spend rest of our day at Mall road.
Located at the Beas river, this is the only temple dedicated to Sage Manu. It is built with Woods and Stone and offers beautiful views of mountains and river from here.
The entry is free . It is a calm place and you can hear the birds chippring all along. Photography inside the temple is not allowed.
This ancient cave is dedicated to Hadimba Devi. It is surrounded by Cedar forests and built with Rock.
Entry is free and there is a rock garden inside this to explore.
It is situated at the Mall road. 5 Mins from the main market. Entry is free.
After this we spent our remaining time at the mall road market looking for local handcrafted items to purchase.
You can also get your hands on some finest kashmiri pasmina suits , Shawls other handloom items for you and your family.
With this we ended our 6 days of trip at the lap of Himalayas. Undoubtably we had enjoyed the most at Jibhi which was a surprise for us. We couldn't visit sissu as we hadn't planned for it.
The Total trip cost was around 80k which surely varies depending upon the number of people in a group.
We recommend you to visit Jibhi and also any suggestions for off beat destinations in Himalaya's or at any other places in the comments section is appreciated.
Thank You for your valuable time for reading this blog. Buh Byee !! .. :-)
With Warm Regards From: Dheeraj, Siddhesh, Siddharth & Mohit .
