I wanted to see Namgyal Monastery- home of Dalai Lama - Mc leod Ganj.
So no sooner than we reached, we freshened up obviously and then set for the Monastery.
The market which leads you to the Monastery itself is so beautiful, sloping down with stalls of buddhas, prayer flags, bowls and beautiful tibetsn ware on offer. The monks walking down the road. The locals busy in their daily life, some enjoying tea and local khari/ biscuits. Steaming momo makers, the waft of maggi in the air. Tourists haggling and shopping to their hearts content, cutesy cafes filled with patrons.
There were artisans just sitting in the corner of the road carving beautiful pieces of stone just like any other ordinary day, whilst we waited to admire their work. A cute fluffy doggy walked to us and we couldn't help but shower all our love.
We did explore more on this day, hardly even one full day. We saw the Naddi point, meditation centre, lake, St John wilderness church shopped to our hearts contents. Enjoyed some tibetan thukpa and momos at the Tibetan Kitchen.
