This time I wanted to unwind some slow travel with a luxury staycation and was also worried about my budget as because of month end… 😉. The haveli has 11 unique style rooms with modern amenities like AC. The kothi has unique sitting areas, garden, swimming pool, restaurants, and big terrace.

I spent a long time contemplating the glistening waters of the pool as I snuggled into a small pavilion surrounded by beautiful flowers. I could see flickering sunbeams being caught on beautiful colorful frescoes as I sipped on my hot masala tea, the translucent color of the wall lending an air of magic to the sun-hazed proceedings.

I had no idea what to expect but I found myself stumbling for words minutes after checking into Mandawa Kothi, a luxury modern kothi on a remote land of Shekhawati where times remain still. I could see the sun poised delicately over the ripples created by the waves of sky from the terrace attached to my room. Mandawa Kothi is famed for the prettiest sunrise in the world and if this welcome was anything to go by, the next few days were going to be mesmerized.

The city of Mandawa, established during the eighteenth century, was once a town occupied by rich Marwa families. The well off and predominant Marwaris built gigantic havelis, embellished with delightful divider compositions, as homes for themselves. In any case, as exchange designs changed, the vendors moved to different regions, leaving the excellent havelis in the shadows of namelessness. Still, you can encounter the greatness of these havelis and how they have changed with age, as they now they have turned into the significant fascination of the city.

How To Reach:

Road: Mandawa Kothi can be reached by road from Delhi (262 km) and Jaipur (170 km).

Train: The nearest railway stations are Churu and Sikar. From there, you can take a cab to reach the Kothi.

Air: The nearest airport is Jaipur Airport, 170 km away from the property It takes about 3 hours from the airport to reach Mandawa.
