The weather has been unpredictable over the last couple of days. Various places in and around Kullu, including Manali and places in Tirthan Valley experienced immense rainfall over the last 24 hours, that led to a dip in the mercury levels.
Higher-altitude areas in Lahaul & Spiti district reportedly experienced moderate snowfall, making Sissu, Kaza, Losar and Chicham appear breathtakingly beautiful.
Even the mountains overlooking Chitkul, a village close to the China border, in Kinnaur district and the majestic Rohtang Pass (13,050 feet), located 52 km from Manali, experienced heavy snowfall on Tuesday. The majestic Dhauladhar Ranges surrounding Dharamshala and Mcleodganj are now covered in a fresh blanket of snow.
"High-altitude areas of Lahaul and Spiti, Chamba, Kullu, Kinnaur and Shimla districts have been experiencing light to moderate snow since Monday night, while mid and lower hills getting widespread rain," an official of the Met department told IANS.
