The Chief Minister, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, assured that the state is safe for tourists, with many roads restored for travel. To encourage tourism, hotels across the state are offering discounted rates during this season. The tourism sector plays a vital role in the state's economy, contributing 7% to the State Gross Domestic Product (SGDP) and providing around 14.42% of direct and indirect employment.

Despite road disruptions due to heavy monsoon rains, visitors can now explore districts like Shimla, Chamba, and Kangra. Alliance Air offers daily flights from Delhi to Shimla, connecting to Dharamshala at Kangra Airport. The state government is subsidizing the fare for all seats on the Shimla-Dharamshala route, fixing the total fare at INR 3,000.

Additionally, Pawan Hans Limited operates helicopter services under the UDAN scheme, connecting Chandigarh to Shimla and further to Rampur, Kullu, Mandi, and Dharamshala. This makes it easier for tourists to access these beautiful destinations in Himachal Pradesh.
