Kharapatthar is a small hill town in Shimla district. Shimla district is known for its Bugyals. Kupper Bugyal is one such meadow near Kharapatthar. It is a very beautiful meadow with GiriGanga temple at its base and a very good camping site. There are no commercial camping site. So carry your own tents. Carry your food from Kharapatthar as well.
If you are travelling from Chandigarh or Delhi, you have two options. Either you go via Shimla and take right from Theog. The other route is a road less travelled, where you take a detour from Solan and take the Chail route to reach Theog. From Theog take right towards Rohru. This road will take you straight to Kharapatthar.
