That experience of flying cannot be explained in words.
Some thrill, some adventure, heart beats very fast, some fear and amazing experience.
I am talking about Paragliding.
In this blog I will tell about Paragliding hub Billing which is Highest Paragliding platform point in India, not only India but also highest take off point of Asia.
Bir billing is popularly known as paragliding capital of India.
Parachute in Bir seeing like balloons flying in the sky.

What is paragliding?
Paragliding is adventure sport of flying paraglider or parachute. These paraglider are light weight and have seat for sitting while flying in sky.
These paraglider flows with wind speed.
You have to run some distance before take off. This feels like jumping in mountains with lots of fear. When you face this fear ,then you feel like king flying in high mountains.
That experience was amazing.

Take off and landing point :

Take off point for Paragliding is Billing. Elevation of billing is 2430 meters or 8020 feet.
Billing is highest take off point in Asia. In billing there is nothing except take off point. There is stunning view of mountains.
For landing there is big ground in Bir. Elevation of Bir is 1350 meters.                  .
Due to landing in Bir, there is restriction on buildings near Bir ground.

There are some rules for Paragliding
1. Pilot can ride maximum 4 flights once in a day.
2. Before take you have to sign a form which includes name, address, age, sex , weight.
3. This registration form has cost of Rs. 75.
4. Cost for Paragliding starts from Rs. 3000.
5. Timing is from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
6. Flight duration is 15-20 minutes.
7. Distance between Bir and billing is 18 kms which takes 45 minutes to cover due to single road.
8. Body weight required for Paragliding is 15 kg to 90 kg.
9. Above 90 kg i.e. 90 kg to 115 kg costs Rs. 500 extra.
10. Best time for Paragliding is from October to June.
11. It's advisable to carry gloves, googles, windsheet, warm jacket , cap with you because of cold weather of Billing.
12. You can also make video while flying which is included in paragliding cost.
13. For picture clicking during landing costs Rs. 200.
14. During rain or bad weather, paragliding didn't take place.

Bir is located near Palampur beautiful hill station of Himachal Pradesh.
Palampur is about 30 kms away from Bir billing.
Nearest airport is at Gaggal which is about 70kms away from Bir.
Nearest railway station is Pathankot which is about 120 kms away.
