It was time to say goodbye to Kasol, to some new friends that I had made and to the hostel as well and move to the next location which was Bir Billing which is famous for been the highest paragliding point in India and second highest in Asia. Bir billing is located 137km from Kasol and in order to go there one has to pass thru Bhuntar, Mandi and definitely some risky but also some picturesque terrain as well. The main reason for me going to bir billing was Paragliding there are other places to roam in there like monasteries for the religious, trekking and camping for the adventourous ones and for the ones who want to relax you got the cafes there. My booking was done for Hipostel Hostel Bir which is located 2kms away from the main market near four square leading to the Paragliding site. It's a new setup of a couple whose got another property at Rishikesh based on Rajasthani theme and this one they are trying to make on the lines of Marathi theme. The host ( Kapil & Alakhnanda) were very friendly infact did my booking for paragliding thru the hostel only which costed me 2k without go pro recording. First day was not too much action apart from the Bike ride #royalenfield and dinner at Vairagi Cafe { had butter chicken ( which was yum) with butter roti and chilly chicken ( which I had to get it packed as they came after the dinner as service was delayed) }. Next day was the main action day weather conditions were great so did my booking for paragliding at the hostel and the guys picked me from the hostel itself. Now coming to Paragliding the roads leading to the paragliding site is located 18kms ahead and was a bit in a bad shape because of the hilly terrains but we reached the spot in about 45 mins and the moment I reached the actual site I was a bit scared I would be able to do it or not as I am scared of heights. I was assigned a co-flier ( trained instructors) to fly with me as one can't go solo and he made me wear all the safety gears prior to our flight and gave the instructions as well not many mainly one has to run for few metres at the site for the parachute to be fully deployed, not to sit at the start, enjoy the view midnight that's it. The flight lasted for around 20mins in which not even a single moment I was afraid of the height infact I was very much relaxed did a perfect landing as well at the landing site. Post paragliding came back to the hostel in the car relaxed at the hotel for sometime and than went out in the evening to have my dinner at moonshine madness cafe n lounge and the best of this cafe is they allow pets to come inside as well which I liked it and the food was good definitely a must go whenever you are at Bir. Another cafe one should go to when in Bir is Sasta cafe though I was not able to go there located just before June 16 Cafe this cafe offers very things but without a price tag attached to it one can leave whatever amount one feels like a definite go to place whenever you are at Bir.
