Dalai Lama's very own Home Dharamshala !!!

Tripoto
2nd May 2017

I always wondered what will be the experience if a female travels alone.

This trip was planned we hen it was heavily snowing in Himachal. So the day

arrived me a solo women traveller will be heading towards because Mountains

are calling!!!

Trip starts from Pune and will be landing Delhi by 2.30 PM unfortunately

from Pune flight of chandigarh started recently and my tickets were already

booked. For people travelling from Pune I would recommend to go for chandigarh

route you can take a haul and can have a glance of chandigarh.

Rather then heading towards Manali. I diverted my trip for Dharamshala.Kangra valley is quite remote and untouched from city affairs people here are mostly friendly and helpful.. I went to Monasteries and the monks are truly devoted human beings... Dharamshala is well-connected to Delhi and other parts of North India via a network of state operated buses as well as private tour operators. The journey is almost 520 kilometres from Delhi.

Most buses stop at the main bus terminal in Lower Dharamshala, but there are also some public Haryana Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) buses that go all the way to the main square of McLeod Ganj. An overnight journey from Delhi takes about 13 hours. You can book HRTC tickets online.

Places to see in Dharamsaala..

1.Tsuglagkhang

2.Tibetian Museum

3..Namgyal Monastery

4. Bhagsunath Temple

5.Bhagsu Falls

6.Dhauladhar Ranges

Tsuglagkhang is the place where Dalai Lama resides. It is one of the most significant places of worship and attract tourist and followers from all over the world.

Namgyal Monastery is situated within Tsuglagkhang overlooking mountain ranges of Dhauladhar. Within complex you can find various other shrines, temples, bookstore and souvenir shops.

Bhagsunath Temple is 1770 M above sea level it is sourrounded beatuiful pool and lush greenery.

Bhagsu Falls between lush greenery and dreamy sceneries, in an pristine atmosphere this falls have breath taking beauty

Dhauladhar Ranges also known as white rangesit provides a flattering view of kullu valley.

I must say i was some how doubtful as being a woman i was travelling alone, however the myth was instantly broken with the warm welcome at monastry. However always being a woman i make sure i trust my intuition and instincts. I will prefer Dharamshala over Shimla or manali. since i am doing soul searching it is a way to escape life. The mountain ranges of Dhauldhar with snow on it is mesmerizing.

If you are travelling in month of December or January you can see the mountain ranges covered with snow. the best time to visit is between January to June and then from September to December.

Do carry some warm cloths and dont forget to visit the flee market.

You can also visit kangra valley if you have time since i was heading towards Tosh i said good byes to the beauty and the monasteries.

The most feasible route is taking a Bus from ISBT delhi to Dharamshala, you can also reach this place from Chandigarh expense is reasonable...
