One fine day, we were discussing to plan a trip, back then when traveling was normal and planning a weekend getaway was the most interesting thing we used to do. 🥺
We were 5 people, working in the same team, tired from all week stuff, were craving for mountains, nature, adventure. So, we all came to a conclusion of doing a road trip till Dharamshala and then back to our office life from Monday. 🙄
But who knew, destiny had some other plans for us. 😅
Since we started in evening, we decided to have dinner at Murthal in one of the dhabas. We stopped at Garam Dharam. We had dinner. Food quality was amazing, food was so delicious, reasonable price. To sum it up, must halt at this place while you are on that highway. 💜
We rested at one of the friend's sister's place which is in Zirakpur. She was so kind and helpful. Took care of us full night like we were her own.
In the morning, we woke up early as we had to drive all the way up to Dharamshala and it was drizzling in the morning so we're a little cautious of how weather would be.
After having breakfast, we started our journey towards Dharamshala.
finally!!! We reached Dharamshala.
We all were too excited and happy. To click some photos, we got out of the car.
We went through the pass which offered us the most captivating view of Himalayas.
The trek is know for its spectacular view of the snow peaked Dhauladhar range on one side and beautiful Kangra valley on the other side.
And we were back in the car. Listening to bollywood tracks, sparkling eyes, but also in the back of our mind we all were thinking, will we be able to make it up to office on Monday? 😕
So a discussion started, whether we should continue to our trip or should go back to Gurgaon, as weather was not in our favour. ⛈️
But after a long discussion, we came to a settlement which was, let's go to Dharamshala and see if we will be able to make it up to Triund then only we will trek otherwise we will come back.
I was, obviously very unhappy and was continuously convincing everyone that we should trek.
Then we put that discussion aside and started enjoying the ride and weather ofcourse.
Since it was already late and we all were too tired, we decided to stay at Dharamshala for that night.
We checked-in to a hotel. Kept our stuff. Freshen up and *boommmm* it was already dinner time. 🥺
We all were super hungry. So we decided to go down the lane just check where we can spend a little time and have a wholesome food.
We were wandering around, it was too cold and raining continuously.
One of us suggested to go at Tibet Kitchen. Food was good. Soup was okay!!
Now, we were so full that we had to take a stroll in the market also rain had stopped. After looking around, walking, we came back to our rooms and slept.
This was the first morning of my life when I woke up to a heavy snowfall.
I was so excited and my sleepy eyes were suddenly so full of different kind of emotions. Each one of us did video calls to our home and shown them to what we woke up to.
It was magical. I am short of words but what we saw that day was so surreal. 🤩
We thought before snowfall ends let's just get ready and start our day. 🌨️
We did a local cab till Dharamkot which is the reporting point of trek. Because we went there in January, we witnessed super heavy snowfall. You won't believe our eyebrows were covered in snow while we were trekking. ☺️
After a good trek, what do we need? "Food" yes!!! There were small shops along the downhill road where we had #tea and #maggi
I don't know about this #COVID situation, but one must visit after once the situation comes under control. Because one has said it right, if you will not go. , You will never know!!! 😎 There was a time like this... But don't worry you travellers.... This too shall pass. 🙏
