I've always wanted to go to Bir, it was on my travel list since so long. I was planning a trip but due to the pandemic, I couldn't go. But as we entered into 2021, I knew my need for traveling is growing and I have to step out of my house and travel.
My friends had recommended this place and I decided to take my first trip in 2021 to Bir. I have been a solo traveler for four years but after one year of sitting at home, I did get a little nervous. Nonetheless, I knew i will get over it once I see the beautiful mountains and feel the cold breeze on my face.
Bir is about 12 hours from Delhi and I took a Volvo from Majnu ka Tilla and I was there by 8am, right on time. I had booked The Hosteller and it was the best decision. The hostel is located right next to the bus stop, so there was no hassle to carry my backpack in the morning or while going back.
My day began with a hearty breakfast at The Garden Cafe, which was 6-8 mins from the hostel. The best part about Bir is that everything is walking distance so you really enjoy the view while going towards your location.
I had a nice meal and walked towards some small huts and houses and just followed the road till it led to an open way with the most perfect view of the clouds. I also went to the monastery but unfortunately they were closed due to Covid.
Still, the beautiful walls and the view of those monasteries mesmerised me alot.
I then met some fellow travelers and we decided to go do paragliding. Probably one of the most thrilling experience of my life. It was super fun and I highly recommend it to everyone. You cannot miss it if you go to Bir.
I then had a lovely meal at Cafe Ilaka and walked for about 20-30 minutes and ended the day on a cheerful note.
Had a light dinner, relaxed at the hostel and slept peacefully.
