Manali has become one of the commercialized city of Himachal. When travellers come to Manali they want to explore new valleys around Manali. Jispa is a well known destination for bikers, solo travellers, couples and explorers. Earlier it used to take approx. 6 hours to reach Jispa from Manali. But now Atal tunnel has become a blessing for traveller's who want to go beyond Manali. Now travellers can reach and explore this divine Tod valley of Lahul and Spiti in 2.5 hours.
The tribal area of Gemur, Jispa, Darcha is also well known between traveller's because these are the acclimatization points if you aare going to high altitudes of Leh Ladhakh.
I started from Manali at 9.00 am and reached Sisu nursery at 10.30. This place is new adventure destination among tourists. Vehicles go till riverside and there are 100's of vehicles going to and from between sisu and Manali.
After soothing my eyes with the beauty of Sisu I ventured in roads and planned to go ahead till Jispa. And it has been the most beautiful decision of my travelling journey. I booked a stay in Genur. Its a small village near Jispa. The frozen waterfalls, snowy winds, smiling faces and clear skies made my soul full of dreams again.
Actually day 2 to day 4.
Started the day with morning walk and my mind was relaxed from the brain washed city culture.
The best thing about this place is that we have a full jio network. So hey corporate goats you can work from mountains if you are missing your laptop's or important deals.
Things to do in Gemur
1. Hike to the oldest and famous gemur Gompa and Rajmahal of khangsar, sit in the shores of bhaga.
2. Drive to Shrinkula pass, the beauty will capture your heart.
3. Visit Jispa village, listen to the story of the lost village due to avalanche, drive to zingzingbar and Chandartal.
4. A day drive to famous trilokinath.
5. If you are a track lover then track to Neelkhanth Mahadev (from Jalma). Enjoy the sounds of Chinab.
PS..On the way don't miss the confluence of bhaga and chandra which merge and gives birth to Chinab, the goddess of Jammu and Kashmir.
4. If you are going to leh ladhakh please acclimatize in Tod valley. Gemur and Jispa are best halts because you are going to high altitudes, acclimatization is better then getting sick.
5. Enjoy the journey folks, its all about journey.
Important tips~Book your stays before you go there. It's core MOUNTAIN VILLAGERS VALLEY. YOU will not find much inhabitants and stays. And its always cold here.
Be kind and polite throughout. Here money is not going to save you but the people around you.
