First of all, let me tell you guys that it was a plan for 3 days.. and also it was not planned for Barot Valley at all.. !! we have planned a 3 day trip for Dalhousie and also started our journey for the same.. but due to some unavoidable circumstances, we move our navigation from Dalhousie to Barot valley.. and literally it was the best ever decision we have made in our journey..
As we mostly preferred to travel with Jarvis V2.0 (Wagon R, I call it Jarvis coz I love my car), so as per plan, I packed my bag and reached Golu's office (as he is working in UK Shift and his office closed at 11:30 PM, and also it was my last office..)
So after picking him up from the office, we went to Golu's flat. After packing up the bag, We left the flat at around 2 AM and After filling up the fuel tank, we started our navigation towards Barot valley.
As we already had dinner.. so we haven't stopped at the famous Dhaba at Murthal, i.e. Sukhdev Dhaba.
After driving for almost 2-3 hours, we stopped at '70 Mile Stone' restaurant, which is situated at Panipat after PIET (Panipat institute of technology). We had tea, samosas, and momos.
After paying the bill, we rested for almost 20 minutes inside the Jarvis and starts our journey again.
We continued our drive for almost 4 hours and then after crossing Chandigarh, we stopped at JPR (Jagat Punjabi Rasoi) and had a very light breakfast which includes Tea, biscuits, and sandwiches.
The food was not as per our expectations..
After having breakfast, we again start towards Barot Valley.
On the way to Mandi, we had snacks at local shops/stalls.
By Reaching Mandi, it was almost 2:30 PM (16th Nov 2K19), and without stopping we continued our journey towards Barot Valley because if we had stopped on any place, then we might not reach Barot valley by a good time, i.e. before sunset.
From Mandi, Google Maps shows that it will be taking around 3 hours more to reach Barot Valley via Ghatasani.
The route from Delhi to Chandigarh was a smooth highway, then after Chandigarh, mountains start and it's not that much smooth route.. but from Mandi towards Barot valley, the route changed suddenly, the slope was getting higher and higher.
On the way from Mandi to Barot, we took some clicks just before Ghatasani. The route to Ghatasani was good as it was not a narrow road but after crossing Ghatasani, the roads are not that wide.. only 2 cars can pass each other that's too not in a high speed, if a bus or truck came in between, then the other vehicle has to take back or stop somewhere from where they can cross each other.
Its almost 5 PM, when we crossed Ghatasani and still our 1-hour journey is left. We kept on going.. we want to enjoy the sunset but as we haven't reached the destination yet, we have to keep on moving.
After Ghatsani, we saw some small villages, there was no electricity at all, lantern was the source of light in the night for those people.. at that time, Golu and I think that it is the worst decision to go to Barot valley as there is no electricity on the way hence we assume that Barot valley would be the same. But just to reach the destination, we kept on moving.. just to check whether our decision was good or not.. While Barot valley is just 15 minutes away, we saw trout fishing farms & riverside camping.
At around 6 PM, we reached Barot valley.. we were so happy as there is no issue of electricity.. As soon as we entered the Barot valley, a guy from behind inside a Maruti swift, called us and said if we are in the search of a hotel, he was the hotel owner and as our car is of UP (Uttar Pradesh) number, he must have known that we must be in search of a hotel to stay.
He shows us the hotel.. 'Hotel White stone', front of the hotel was not as per our expectations.. but the view from the back was amazing...
we decided to stay there for 1 night at least (also we don't have other options at that time)
We unpacked our luggage from Jarvis to the room, we decided to order dinner.. as trout fish is very famous there, we decided to taste trout fish first. So we ordered Tawa trout fish, a dish of chicken..☺️
As it's Golu's birthday night... we celebrated it with a bottle of Red label (We both have the same taste in drinking and traveling/exploring new things)
The Tawa fish was so tasty that we decided to order that again.. even the food was tasty.. although many times we had to compromise on food quality but this time we were amazed that the taste of each dish was so perfect..
After we had dinner, we went to sleep. We were so excited to see the morning as the Barot Valley is unexplored.
In the morning at around 9 AM, we woke up, had tea and after we got ready for the day, we ordered breakfast which included Aloo-pyaz paratha, gobhi paratha & curd. The breakfast literally won our hearts.. paratha was so yumm.. and because of that, we decided to stay there for 1 more night..
The Hotel owner told us that there is a lake nearby from the hotel, at around 500 meters, the specialty of that lake (as told by him), is that the water from that lake is being sent to the place near Mandi, there is an underground pipeline that is being used for the same.
We started to explore Barot Valley.. Just after walking for around 10 minutes, we saw that lake... which is amazingly beautiful. The view was mesmerizing, the weather was amazing. We spent 2 hours to clicks pictures for Instagram/Facebook / or for the status of WhatsApp..
After spending a peaceful time, we started trekking towards the waterfall which is approx 2-3 Km from the lake.. but as we have to go fishing and time was less.. we went back to the hotel to pick up Jarvis for the long drive As we got to know that after 16 KM from Barot.. the last village was there named as Bara Garan.. even roads end there.. On the way to Bara Garan.. we have visited and clicked pictures as the view is mesmerizing.. on the way to Bara Garan, we crossed Multan, Sarla, Kothi Koher, Kohar Khas villages and at the end stopped for a while in Bara Garan, to explore the road ends at the mountains.
While we reached the Bara Garan, its almost 3 PM and as we have decided to do fishing, we started moving back to Barot Valley which will take 1 hour to reach there..
On the way back from Bara Garan, we stopped at the trout fishing farms in Barot Valley, but as the owner of farms, the production of trout fish has ended for the day. our bad luck.. As its almost 6 PM we decided to park our Jarvis into the hotel's parking and explore the local market. We did the same.. parked our Jarvis and explored the market.. the market got shut down at around 7 PM, as the Barot Valley is unexplored, you will not find many tourists there..
After roaming around an hour in the market, we came back to the hotel and ordered our dinner.. again we ordered Tawa trout fish as it was so tasty and chicken & fish pakora as an evening snack..
We also appreciate the staff of the hotel to tell them how happy we are with the services and food.. they felt happy that we appreciated them.
After having dinner, its almost 11 PM, the temperature was 6 degrees, as it's too late and we have to leave the hotel the next morning, so we went to sleep.
The next morning we woke up at around 9:30.. and we decide to stay there till 12 PM so after freshening up, we ordered breakfast the same as previous and sit beside the river behind our hotel.. clicked some photographs..
At around 11:30, we came back to the room & packed our bags and kept them inside Jarvis. After paying the hotel bill of approx 6K (including a stay for two days, breakfast and dinner)
At Barot valley, there is no petrol pump.. the nearby petrol pump is almost 40 Km away and also we haven't found any ATM there.. but for hotel's bill, you can easily use google pay.
At around 12:30 we left the hotel with very low spirits, as we don't want to leave the place but we know our financial conditions, so we left the place..
At around 2 PM, we found the first petrol pump.. which we were eagerly waiting for for.. after filling up the fuel tank to full.. we left the petrol pump.
At around 4 PM, we reached Mandi.. we parked Jarvis in the parking area and had pizza (from Dominos) for lunch.
While leaving Mandi, its almost 5 PM.. we want to cross the hilly area before sunset but it will take around 3-4 hours to reach the highways to Chandigarh..
On reaching the highway NH-205, it's almost 9:45 PM. At Khabra, we stopped at KFC inside Heritage haveli for dinner.
We have ordered chicken rice bowls and chicken buckets. after we had dinner, we left the place and decided to not stop anywhere before home.
At around 4 AM we reached back to Ghaziabad ☺️
