On the Morning of 17th April 2015 we guys were busy giving our College internal Exams(you know you are always surrounded by exams while pursuing engineering). As it was our last exam we were feeling a little stress free. We 4 people( I, Mayur, Romesh & Madhur) randomly made a plan to go to a hill station for some fun & we decided it to be McLeodganj. We managed to book 4 seats in a privately operated volvo bus from majnu Ka tila, Delhi. We boarded the Bus at 6pm & as we entered the bus we found that expect us everyone in the bus were foreigners. We all congratulated each other for our Luck. That 12 hour bus journey was never a boring thing. We interacted with lots of foreigners the whole night. There was a guy from Germany who was travelling solo & he was in India from the last 15 weeks. We guys got motivated to travel.
At 8am we reached mcleoganj bus stand(on 18th). We decided to go to Bhagsu & rent a room there. So we started walking on foot to bhagsu which is around 1.5km from McLeodganj square, At mcleodganj square we had Chai & bread and then straight headed to bhagsu. Within half an hour we managed to reach Bhagsu. We managed to rent a hotel there for INR1400 per day. We slept for some time and then got ready to explore the things around. We started our day with Darshan at The BHAGSUNATH temople & then went to German Bakery to have some Breakfast. believe me the food was awesome there. Then we started trekking to the Bhagsu Waterfall. Within 1.5 hours we managed to reach the Bhagsu waterfall. We spent some quality time there yawning. We noticed some stairs going even further up the hill & we decided to climb them. Those stairs led us to the famous SHIVA CAFE. There we smoked a hookah & had some snacks. We left the cafe and managed to reach our hotel at 7pm. As were we tire we had our dinner in the Hotel itself. We had some beer & food and then slept.
Next morning(on 19th) we woke up at 7am as we have to go to the Triund Glacier. We packed some food, some chocolates, some water bottles & left the hotel. Some locals guided us and told us the way to triund. We decided to take the path which was more challenging & less traveled as guided by the locals. We kept trekking till 1Pm but still we could't reach there but the locals told us that the triund trek is merely of 4-5 hours. But we still kept on climbing the same path & reached the dead end of the Mountain. There we realised that were following the wrong path. But the View from there was superb and also it added to our experience. There was no option for us except to go down the same path and find the right way to triund. On our way down we met a couple from Scotland who too had lost their way. We told them that there is a dead end ahead but they didn't believe us and kept going further. Finally after walking for around 1.5hours we found the right path. That path led us to the famous Magic view cafe, As we were tired so we had some tea & omelette there and then started our trekking again. After travelling 2 more hours we finally reached TRIUND. There was snow everywhere the view from the top was stunning. The last 2kms trek was very challenging & adventurous but it was worth it. We reached triund around 5pm so we had less time to stay there. We stayed there for half an hour, had some photo session and started climbing down as there was no meaning of travelling in the night as the path was very steep and rocky. We managed to reach our hotel by 8.30pm and we were very tired. We ordered the Food from the hotel itself as we knew the food is tasty because we ate there last night also. around 10Pm we slept as we were very tired.
Next morning(on 20th) we checked out from the Hotel and visited the Dalai Lama Temple. Then we had some momos from the street vendors which were awesome. Then we went to Dharamshala to visit the Famous Cricket Stadium. We spent some time there clicking photos & then came back to Mcleoganj. There we had our lunch at Mcllo Restaurant which served us awesome food and then headed towards the Bus Stand as we had to Board a bus from there. Around 5pm we boarded the Volvo and our 3 days trip came to an end.
We carried unforgettable memories of MCleodganj with us. #CHEERS
