Where is this hidden gem?

Situated approximately 45 kilometers away from the main city of Srinagar, in the Budgam district of Kashmir, this place boasts a rich ancient history. It is said that Toshmaidan was not only frequented by local shepherds but also by those from neighboring countries. During medieval times, the Mughal rulers utilized this vast meadow as a route to reach Poonch through the Poonch Gali.

The name "Toshmaidan" is derived from "Tu Shah Maidan," which translates to "King of Meadows" in literary terms. Perhaps, this grand title was bestowed by the Mughals, who made Toshmaidan their first stopover in the valley when they entered Kashmir via Loran (Poonch).
