As I sit within the four walls of my cubicle, I daydream about working from mountains on budget, with eyes soothed by the snow-clad mountain views and orchards laden with apples and cherry blossoms.
With all the obvious reasons to visit Manali for a staycation, I decided to work from the mountains following the surreal hype. But since Manali is overcrowded during that time, I choose to stay at this homestay, located in a beautiful village called Burua, only 6 km from Old Manali. This homestay was worth every penny and second spent, and let's look at what it offers.
The Other Destination - My abode in Himachal
As I entered the homestay, I was amazed by the orchid gardens, covered with a white crystal blanket of snow.
The apple orchards and green meadows surrounded by snow-clad mountains in the backdrop made me fall in love with the place.
The cute artistic basement and the DIY lamps added a magical charm to the homestay. With the excitement of spending a month here, I hopped around the property like a butterfly!

Along with the cozy bedrooms and spacious living room, the balcony view was yet another thing that filled my heart.
The homestay serves only freshly cooked vegetarian food (eggs allowed) and offers good Wifi connectivity - a perfect place for workation!
The common room and the kitchen area offers everything - from a cup of kadak chai to late-night drinks and maggi, movie nights, and parties to interact with fellow travelers (Blanket stories also if you can relate to). Also, this is a child-friendly property with games like singing bowl, yoyo, and Mandala painting sessions.
The artistic basement with cute paintings and lovely DIYs felt so homely with dreamcatchers around.
And I must mention that you can get the best time-lapse videos of sunrise and sunset. Whether you are an early bird or a sunset lover, your mornings & evenings at the terrace will turn out to be the best time of the day.
Things to do in and around the property:
1. Barbeque Nights under the stars
You cannot miss out on the Barbeque nights under the stars in the garden with light music. Enjoy the views of the starlit sky.
2. A walk to the gushing Beas river crossing the bridge
And what can be a better way than to start your morning with a walk to the gushing Beas River that soothes the soul. Well, you must set out to explore & experience the bliss!
3. Go Café Hoping
If you're someone who loves to explore new cafes, this is your place! There's a cafe, at a distance of around 40min from Hidimba Devi temple, and you cannot miss working from here. The hiking trail includes this fancy dreamcatcher market and a picture-perfect view of entire Manali.

By Road - From Delhi, the distance is 542 km and 310 km from Chandigarh. You can take a bus from Delhi or Chandigarh to Manali. From the Manali bus stop, hire a cab which will cost around 400-700 Rs based on the weather conditions.
By Air - The nearest Airport is Kullu, around 45 km from the destination.
