Overview

Bhrigu is a high-altitude mountain lake hidden between the big mountains of Himachal. The best part about this trek is you gain an ambitious altitude of almost 14000 ft on the second day of your trek which usually is attained on fourth or fifth day of any other Himalayan trek. The meadows of Rola Kholi and the grand views of Pir panjal and Dhauladhar range makes this a perfect package for all kinds of trekkers. No other trek will give such easy access to a far stretched alpine meadows coupled with a skyline dominated by famous Himalayan peaks like Hanuman Tibba, Friendship Peak, Indrasan and Deo Tibba.

Itinerary
  • Day 1: Arrive at Manali
  • Reach Manali early in the morning. Check in at our campsite. Freshen up and enjoy the mountain landscape. Overnight in Manali
  • Day 2: Manali – Gulaba – Raoli Kholi (9700ft.) (20-30 min drive, 3-4 hour trek)
  • Post breakfast, board our vehicles and drive towards Solang valley up until we cross the barrier and reach Gulaba. After hoisting your backpacks begin the first leg of your trek. The trail is a gradual slope at the start as we start entering the alpine forests. As we go higher up landscapes keep on changing. There are times when we are walking in a thick forest cover but as we go up the trees become rare and we are walking in lush green meadows. After 3 hours of climbing, we reach at our first campsite – Raoli Kholi. It is located just near the tree line which protects us from freezing winds at night We will fix our camps here at Raoli Kholi.
  • Day 3: Raoli Kholi – Bhrigu Lake (13910 ft.) – Raoli Kholi (7km, 6-7 hr)
  • This morning we start early as the day is long. Today’s trail consists of mixed terrains gradual and steep inclines and snowy tearrain as we approach Bhrigu lake. The trail starts to incline sharply we approach the last section of the climb. The gradient is filled with huge boulder, ice and snow making it challenging. But the grand views of the Pir Panjal Range will keep your spirits high. The lake presents itself at the very last of the ridge walks. The summit offers magnificent views of most celebrated mountains such as Hanuman Tibba, Indrasan and Deo tibba. We will have our lunch, take photographs then retrieve back to our camp site same way down. Overnight in Rola Kholi.
  • Day 4: Raoli Kholi – Manali (4 km, 3-4 hours)
  • Post breakfast, start descending down to Manali. Today is the easiest leg of our trek. Reach Manali and check in at hotel. Freshen up and explore Manali. Overnight in Manali.
  • Day 5: Manali – Delhi
  • Wake up at leisure. Pack your luggage and board a bus to Delhi in the evening. Trek ends.
