When you live in a city you can hardly imagine a place which can give a feeling of a hill station. True, isn't it?
But once you get to know your city or vicinity better you get completely surprised what these cities suburbs holds.
Where it all started: -
This is a story about a place I've never imagined before, but when this pendamic kicked in, I started looking for every possibility I could to travel. That's where the thought of exploring the NCR came to my mind.
I got to know about a place called Damdama Lake, located in Gurugram. That's one of the water reservoirs in Aravali's. Since, you will find these lakes filled with water only in monsoon. It is always best to go there in that season, though winter won't be that bad too. It was an auspicious day, 15th of August. I felt the urge to go and I made this plan the same day with my friends Param(childhood) and Nishant.
The ride day: -
I started my ride @4.30, I went to pick up Nishant from 54 sector, Faridabad. And picked him up @5pm. Param and his friend joined us on the way to Lake.
On our way from Faridabad to Gurugram, we found some really amazing roads, not to complain the few bad. And it took us an hour to reach there. So, we were there around 6 pm.
Damdama Lake: -
Our first stop was the Lake. They have made a ramp to go on to the edge so that we have complete view of the lake. It was really a huge one. I could see boats sailing, people cheering and family gathering. The weather was not humid and temperature was around 33°.
Nearby Location: -
There are many places to go nearby like boating, rides, swings and hotels. But there is a temple where you must go. Go up to the hill from the temple inside and watch sunset or sunrise if you can. Trust me that's worth a try. We went up there hoisted our flat and sat there for sometime. Chiming of the bells and sound of sermon, chirping of the birds. That's what I was hearing and nothing else....
then we left for the home, sweet home...
