Maharashtra is land of mountains ranges valleys, warriors and ghats, every fort has a long history and deep story behind it, so one of these is harihar fort which was build during yadava period. which was at last captured by Caption Briggs in 1818 along with other 17 forts.
Every one should start there trek at morning when sun arise as it give positive energy beautiful view and will to capture the fort. our journey started at 5 am in morning from thane as i stay in Mumbai it will take hardly 2 hrs from private bus and good thing is that there is no traffic and you can see beautiful route along your way
There are two base villages of the fort, Harshewadi and Nirgudpada. The Harshewadi is 13 km from Trymbakeshwar. The other base village of the fort is Nirgudpada/Kotamvadi which is 48 km from Igatpuri which itself is 48 km from Nashik and 121 km from Mumbai.
As when we reached our destination we headed towards the village where we managed to do our breakfast ,People over there are very humble, sweet but poor. being in Maharashtra we deserve to get kandhe pohey nad chaha(tea)
you can complete this fort within 2-3 hours If you are a good climber or trekker it may take less time, harihar fort can be accomplished within one day itself you can take home made food and just a small backpack
as when we were reaching on the top all were excited and started the roring out with a loud voice jai bhavani jai shivaji.
as if you go on top you will see small pond filled up with fishes, small temple and one storage room which generally exclaims that it is a storage room where all foodgrains and other stuff are kept securely
Note : where ever you go just make sure you should not make that place dirty as it is our nation heritage , as I observed people are writing unnecessary line on our historic places which any how making it unclean and destroying our culture.
Poor people big heart, people over here are very kind hearted but poor, helpful but poor, as here there is no proper facility for them, no proper medical aid, no proper facility , children over here are malnutrited, so whenever you go to harihar fort carry lots of foodstuff for these poor little kids. My journey towards Hari Har fort ended when these small kids smiled and told me to come back and meet them.
