Kodaikanal is beautiful. It's unspoilt, peaceful and uncommercialised.

One should visit Kodai at least once in their lifetime.

There were many times I had planned a trip to Kodai, but for for some reason or the other it never worked out. But in November 2019 it finally happened.

Zostel, Kodaikanal
Day 1

As soon as I arrived in Kodaikanal, I took a cab to my hostel. The cab coasted 200/- bucks. On the way to my hostel the cab driver told me about the site seeing package. I booked my spot as I didn't have any plan for the day.

I reached my hostel — ZOSTEL — checked in, settled down in my dorm, and got ready to step out for the day.

Coaker's Walk: The first place we went to was Coaker's Walk. You need to pay an entry fee of 20/- bucks here.

This place was covered with fog. Hence, hiding the view. Nevertheless, it was a nice walk and the weather was great.

There are food stalls through out way here. You can pick up a snack while enjoying your walk.

Upper Lake View

Upper Lake View: There's no entry fee here and this is pretty much what is there to see.

I did visit Pillar Rocks, but unfortunately couldn't take a pic, because the place was covered with fog.

Guna Caves: More popularly known as Devil's Kitchen. I haven't seen anything like this. The tree roots have covered the entire the place making this place unique, spooky and creepy.

If you are looking to experience something very rare, this is the go to place.

Also, once you enter the forest area you need to pay a entry fee of about 185/- bucks.

Pine Forest

Pine Forest: Enjoy the tranquility and beauty of this place with a cup of coffee/tea. Activities like horde riding is available here.

Also, this place is full of monkeys, so you might not want to be careful with food.

There are photographers readily available here. So, incase you forgot to carry your DSLR, don't worry. You'll get your photo printed instantly.

Moir Point

Moir Point: It is said that Moir Point is where you could witness the best view of Kodai and that explains why this place was crowded.

Though while I was visiting, I couldn't see the breathtaking view.

Pambar/Liril Falls

Pambar Falls: more popularly known as Liril Falls, it is a well known tourist spot. It is a small waterfall, but surely one that you don't want to miss out on your trip.

There is no entry fee to visit this waterfall. While you you are here, you can also shop for spices and chocolates. Make sure to pick up some STONE CHOCOLATES for friends and family back home.
