Day 1

If you fancy history, heritage and a whole lot of charm, this is for you. Located in the historic Parsi district of Bhuj is the ancestral courtyard house of the Bhujwalas, the last Parsis of Bhuj.

I came across this property on Airbnb when I was planning my Kutch trip. After looking at the photos and reading the reviews, I decided to spend 2 nights here.

This is an ideal location if you want to cover the Kutch region and not just the Rann of Kutch. Artisan villages like Bhujodi and Ajrakpur are about 30 mins drive from the Bhuj House and highly recommended for someone who is interested in crafts. Another must visit for the handicraft aficionado is the Living and Learning Design Centre Crafts Museum, an NGO-run museum showcasing the craft heritage of the Kutch region.

While in Bhuj, you can visit the Aina Mahal, Prag Mahal, Kutch Museum and the Ramkund, pick up sweets from the famous Khadva Sweets or gorge on some Dabeli or Fafda Jalebi.
