Little Rann of Kutch in Gujarat, covering an area of 4954 sq.km is one of the most fascinating and unique landscapes, wild Ass sanctuary home of Asiatic Wild Ass or khur, one of the most endangered species in the world.Apart from Asiatic wild ass animals such as blue bull, desert fox, jackal, jungle cat, hare, wolf, wild boar are also found here.

How to reach LRK?

By Road

Dhrangadhra (18kms) from Little Rann of Kutch is well connected to other important places in the State by the State Transport Buses as well as other private luxury coaches.

By Rail

Nearest Railway Station is Ahmedabad (130 kms) from Dhrangadhra, has connectivity to all the major cities in India.

By Air

The nearest airports are Ahmedabad (130 kms), Rajkot (145kms) and Bhuj (200 kms) from Dhrangadhra.

We Started our trip by road from ahmedabad to bajana covering 90km distance.

As we planned this tour in November month we covered almost more than 22 species of birds includes Indian spotted eagle, Greater spotted eagle, Steppe eagle, Blue cheek bee eater, Small pranticole, Eurasian/northern sparrow hawk, Short eared owl, Montague's harrier, Marsh harriar, Flamingo, Pelicans, Common kestral, Imperial eagle, Dessert weather, sykes lark, Bush lark, Crested lark, White stock, Long leg buzzard, Peregrine falcons in 5 safaris covers 3 days.

Day -1

We started in early morning at sharp 6:00 we went to bajana it is a small Rann where mostly wetlands, wildass and falcons is waiting for the first rays of sun for basking, we explored the rann as we can till 11.00am, next safari will be after 3.30pm.

Day -2

Again sharp early morning at 6:15 we left for Kharaghoda desert (Another part of LRK) more deeper you go more mysterious species we get, the owls and other rare animals, this desert touch the greater rann of kutch, one need to have knowledge of routes and directions.

Day -3

Last day was peaceful, Sun on horizon is one the best moment you see in LRK, wild ass crossing the sun and noise of wetland birds give thrilling and fascinating feeling to enjoy in the end, especially with "Chai ki chuski"

Majoly LRK is for nature lovers and bird watchers, in these three days we completed more than 22 species of birds with good photo opportunity.

LRK is emotion, every time you visit is not for just photography its more than a vast desert, lost tracks in which migrations live and try to survive in beautiful manner, those observations and searching from far, sitting on lost branches or under the shades of stones its something we never have seen anywhere, its endless exploring
