I had planned for Diwali leaves in Goa with my Parents and cousin. They were reaching 1 day prior and I was reaching on 26th morning.
Since I booked my train tickets very late from Pune, I was sure to travel by bus. But ho and lo, my ticket got confirmed and that too in an upgraded 3AC coach. I felt like hugging IRCTC 😂😂
Also, I was traveling through Goa Express train. Had I known before that it passes through the top most bridge, right besides Dudhsagar, (Yes folks, the same spot shown in Chennai Express movie) I would have woke up 1 hour before. But the ignorant me didn't even know.
Anyway so I reached Goa (Train was late by 2 hrs), booked a taxi and went straight to our hotel. And since cyclone 'Maha' was hitting konkan area, we had made up our minds to just stay in our Hotel rooms. It rained in first half of 26th Oct, and then it stopped to our surprise. But since we hadn't plan anything for that day considering rains, we just stayed and relaxed at our rooms.
This was the view from our dining area.
Colva Beach
Again it was raining for like 2 hrs in morning so the water sports activity which we had planned, got cancelled. We were eating all khakhras, kachoris, Fafdas and all sorts of Gujju snacks and breakfast with tea.
Once the sky was cleared, we headed for Colva beach around 3'o clock. It was crowded, but less crowded compared to North Goa beaches and were taking photos in all possible poses 😝. We then went on to explore the nearby market, had some tea again, ate corn, got temporary tattoos and colorful braids and came back to beach around sunset time.
We were just enjoying sunset and don't remember why I turned, but suddenly there was a rainbow right there, popping out and reflecting the beautiful colors and I started jumping. I couldn't even remember when did I see rainbow the last. And yes, it was Diwali that day 😊😊
It was obviously not visible once the sun started setting but we had captured our moments. And since it was very cloudy that day, the sun set also happened behind the Clouds. Maybe that's why the clouds were reflecting all the marvelous shades of Orange, Yellow and pink.. and all these colors were passing through the Grey clouds in Blue sky. Just the thought of so many colors dancing along in front of your eyes is unexplainable 😇😇.
After sunset we spotted a Rajasthani restaurant and went there to have food. They were having Diwali Pooja on their counter which also felt a lil homely ☺️.
Paloleum Beach
We were bit tired coming from Colva beach but not so tired to go to Paloleum beach, from where we wanted to go to Butterfly Island. You can only reach Butterfly Island via ferry services from Paloleum beach.
But before starting for that beach, we wanted to do something which none of us had done so far.
We wanted to see Sunrise ⛅.
Now on the Western side, sun rise happens on the opposite direction of the beaches. So we left at around 6:00 AM for Benaulim beach. It was at a walking distance so we didn't take any Auto or Cab. The only fear was of dogs, that if we by chance disturbed them early in the morning, we didn't even know any close by Hospital 😂😝. We reached around 6:20 at Benaulim beach and I can't even describe how it felt. There were hardly 8-10 people other than us on that entire beach and it felt as if we were in altogether some other country, since we are being so used to crowds at every place. The sun-rise was so surreal and all of us went in our own zones and thoughts. It had such a positive vibe.
After that, we left at around 10 for Paloleum beach but because of red alert, the ferry services were closed so couldn't go to Butterfly Island and I felt a bit low. But it didn't lower the excitement of my Mom even a bit, who had specially bought Jeans for herself and was wearing it for the first time.
But soon the shacks on the beach made me forget about the place I couldn't go and I started enjoying the place I were in.
The sky was so clear, it was a warm and sunny day and all colours of blue and green all around.
We grabbed something to eat and then proceeded for some Fort. It was in dilapidated state but was still beautiful, giving a hell of a view of the Arabian sea on the other side.
After that, we proceeded for Water Sports in River nearby. We couldn't do Para-sailing but were still happy to do other rides.
Also, we really wanted to go to Dudhsagar waterfall Safari but it was closed since the water levels were very high. However, on 3rd day, while going back from Paloleum beach, we got to know that the Safari has been opened and our joy knew no bounds 😊😊
We started inquiring for tickets to Dudhsagar falls and as if the starts were favoring us, we planned for it the very next day.
After that, we straight proceeded to out Hotel and just chilled.
Please let me know if you would like to hear the remaining 2 days of my Goa holidays.
I am writing it for the first time so would really appreciate all the suggestions and comments.
