The sun and sand go hand in hand, the sound of constant waves, there's a smell of salt in the air, the sea is seen kissing the horizon at distance.
I stand here on the shore with sand between my toes and the smooth breeze touching my face as if beckoning me to dive into the blue.
It's April and the sun is shining at its full might. Sometimes when there's a air pocket, I can smell the sunscreen from my skin evaporating and again there it's place is taken by salty breeze and this cycle goes on.
Soon I realized that I wasn't the only one there. Children have come with their parents and I watched them play in the sand. Mother was helping the boy build his sand castle and the dad helped her daughter jump the waves by holding her little hands.
Soon two lovers caught my vision. They were strolling hand in hand enjoying their day of sun and sand. I smiled as they seem to think they are all alone on this crowded beach on which they roam. They left behind pair of footprints on the sands of time.
The old moved in slow and steady motion as if it was the last time they get to see the ocean.
The seagulls glided in circles. It seems they don't care but they were searching to catch their food somewhere mid-air.
Among all these motions there one one constant, the sound of waves crashing as if it was a notion.
Now, the sun is at the horizon and the whole water is lit up.
Birds returning to their homes. Scattered on the beach I see castles made of sand, some small and messy others big and grand.
A day at the beach is not complete without catching the perfect wave or gathering shells along the shore
Souvenirs of a perfect day..
