Usgalimal Rock Carving is situated into the village of usgalimal, Rivona Goa. It's a prehistoric rock carving site which is approximately 20000-30000 years old in South Goa. Some beautiful rock arts which can be seen on the site are peacock, bulls, labyrinths and human figures on Laterite stone and its a peaceful place where anyone can do photoshoot also. This site is preserved under the protection of forest department. The site was discovered in 1993 by Europeans, when local villagers took archaeologists to the bend in west-flowing river Kushavati outside the village, with mysterious engravings on the laterite shelf. The layer of mud covering up the engravings had been washed away by monsoon floods facilitating their discovery.
There are 2 ways from which one can visit to site which are, from sanguem or from tilamol. It's almost 14km from tilamol and 18 km from sanguem so it's better to go from tilamol. While going to usgalimal rock carving, on the way there are 2 caves and a spring in Rivona. To visit caves, spring or rock carving there are no charges to enter till now.
