Oh yes, it’s true!
This is the FIRST ever inclusive festival in Goa for persons with disabilities (PwDs). The three-day festival that would be held in Panjim from 8th to 13th of January will aim at manifesting how to bring inclusivity in the society and support each other.
The event will be hosted by the Goa State Commission for Persons with Disabilities in association with the Directorate of Social Welfare and Entertainment Society of Goa. For this grand festival, thousands of entries have been registered for the festival, and delegates from all over the country are expected to participate.
The Purple Fest will be no different from any other festival that is usually celebrated in Goa. From music concerts, dance and stand-up comedy, there will be a whole of fun live performances that are in line, among many other interactive activities. Since this festival is being hosted especially for PwDs, hence sporting events, blind car rally, birdwatching and exhibitions will showcase the latest aids and products developed by and for PwDs. For those who are interested, there will be live art camps, visits to heritage sites and other popular tourist attractions will also be a part of the festival.
