This news might just be the highlight of your year! If you're not sure why, you might not have experienced the magic of Goan beaches, delicious food, and the relaxed susegad lifestyle. For those who can work remotely, imagine grabbing your laptop, tossing some summer clothes into a bag, and heading off to Goa whenever you please!
Co-working spaces for beach lovers in Goa
Last week, during a Legislative Assembly session, Tourism and Information Technology (IT) Minister Rohan Khaunte expressed the state's desire to encourage the "workation in Goa" culture. It is hoped that this initiative will attract more working tourists not only from India but also from Europe, thereby boosting the Goan tourist industry while allowing them to enjoy a working vacation.
Where are the co-working spaces located?
While you may have envisioned yourself grabbing your laptop and setting up shop at Curlies, that's not the plan. Initially, designated co-working spaces will be established at Benaulim in South Goa, and Morjim and Miramar beaches in North Goa. These spaces, known as the "Design Village," mark the first phase of the project. Here, you can work, enjoy delicious meals by the beach, take breaks for surfing, freshen up with a shower, and then return to work in these co-working spaces!
About the co-working shacks
During last week's SartUp20 Engagement Group meeting, IT and Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte announced plans to introduce 12 sea hubs. Workation facilities at Morjim and Ashwem beaches are nearing completion.
Beach shacks will be set up at Colva, Benaulim, and Baina beaches in South Goa, and the Calangute-Baga belt in North Goa. These shacks will offer a "plug and play" setup, providing all necessary facilities for working professionals.
Are you excited to pack your work bag and head to Goa once the workation shacks are up and running? Both locations in South and North Goa are perfect for relaxing, working, and having lots of fun!
