Goa --A state in western India with coastlines stretching along the Arabian Sea. Its long history as a Portuguese colony prior to 1961 is evident in its preserved 17th-century churches and the area’s tropical spice plantations. Goa is also known for its beaches, ranging from popular stretches at Baga and Palolem to those in laid-back fishing villages such as Agonda.

Goa’s balmy tropical weather means that temperatures don’t fluctuate much, hovering between 24°C to 29°C all the year-round.

But at the peak of summer in the month of May, noon temperatures often cross 33°C to 36°C. The Goan monsoon lasts from June to September adorns Goa with greenery all around and tourists are now coming in to see Goa at her beautiful best while taking advantage of monsoon discounts from the hotels and resorts.

We travelled by car from Hyderabad to Goa -- Distance approx. 678.5KM . A road trip from Hyderabad to Goa is a long one, taking around almost 15 hours, but it is also one of the top road trips in India that you will thoroughly enjoy! The route is marked with excellent sights and experiences. Driving through the Western Ghats will be one of the highlights of your trip.

We have earmarked lot of places to visit but ended up with lots of food, drinks, fun and loosening myself with to absorb the tranquility .

Goa’s beaches are known the world over. Traveler needs to decide how many beaches to be visited . Beaches are on North Goa & South Goa Circuit. Apart from beaches, many places can be on one's travel list like Churches, Museums, Forts, Waterfalls. Also one can enjoy water sports paragliding, scuba diving.

Beach: Palolem is known for its beautiful crescent – shape which makes it possible to see both the ends from the center of the beach. Palolem is lined with palm trees and colorful wooden shacks, the beach faces Canacona Island and also known as Canacona beach. You will find options to stay in beach house. This is one of the best beaches in India, the water is nice and clean, unlike most Indian beaches. Also, this beach is less crowded. One can visit Butterfly, Agonda , Talpona and Galgibaga beach which are nearest from Palolem Beach. These beaches are in South Goa. There are also beautiful beaches in North Goa like Calabgute, Anjuna, Arambol, Baga, Vagator, Morjim .

The culture of Goa is an amalgamation of Indian and Portuguese culture. The long Portuguese rule has influenced the culture in more ways than one and many of the Portuguese traditions are reflected in the Goan culture even today.

The cuisine of Goan people is mostly seafood-based; the staple foods are rice and fish. Kingfish (vison or visvan) is one of the most commonly eaten varieties of fish.. Other fish varieties include pomfret, shark, tuna, sardines, and mackerel. Pork Vindaloo and Prawn xeque xeque, Chicken Xacuti are most popular dishes.
