HAMPTA PASS TREK 2020
First day of the trek:
First day of this trek was something I wasn't expecting it to be,
As being a coordinator of this trek I was expecting things to go smoothly,
But I guess God had some other plans,
While I was waiting for my group to arrive at manali by early morning,
I got a call that Traveller's tire got punctured but we got a stepney right? That's also not working,
Now that's a mess, but somehow driver looked for help, fixed the puncture,
They reached manali by almost 3PM,
Everyone was hungry, angry or you can say "HANGRY",
Somehow me and my team tried to convince them, calm them down,
And started our journey toward first base camp,
I was sitting there in cab hoping for no more trouble,
But there you go,(trouble ka name lia or trouble aa gyi)
Our cabs were stopped for permission checking,
And unluckily our permissions haven't reached to the police yet,( there a is project going on, so we need to permission to enter that road towards Balu ka gera)
After some calls and arguments they got the permission and we left towards balu ka gera,
Considering the situation we shifted our base camp to beginning of "CHHIKA",
It was small hike to our first base camp,
Everyone was so tired for that too,
We reached there totally exhausted,
But thanks to team members they have sorted everything from camps, to food, to bonfire,
We sat around the bonfire,
Relaxed for a while,
Had our special TEA in the mountains (some people had coffee 😅),
And just like that, nobody was angry anymore,
Everyone was singing, dancing, admiring the moon and enjoying the evening,
I guess there was something in the mountains, or in the tea or may be in the bonfire🤔
But whatever it was, at the end of the day finally everything was sorted,
Everyone was happy,
And that's when I realised it wasn't that bad experience,
It was just different, kinda messed up like my life,
But hi, hi, who wants a journey without an extraordinary experience 😅
.
.
Stay tuned for the next day story ✌🏻
Till than, guess if we completed Hampta pass trek or not?

Are you familiar to that, "butterflies in your stomach kinda feeling?"
Hampta pass trek 2020
Second day of trek :
After a windy night,
There comes a sunny morning,
Everyone was feeling fresh and happy,
Waking up in the mountains is kinda happy feeling,
And taaadddaa everyone was happy again,
We had our breakfast,
Small briefing,
Packed our bags and all set for the next location,
We were heading towards "Jwara" our second camp site,
Are you familiar to that, butterfly in your stomach kinda feeling?
Because I was heaving that feeling,
Why?
Because those snowy mountains were infront of me,
I was rushing towards my goal (Hampta Pass),
Divya, ma'am.......
Somebody was calling me,
Some people are very slow or they might have heavy bags,
No worries, take rest than start again,
Everyone was asking, "how far we need to walk?"
And that standard answer was there, " bus thoda sa dur", "bus 20 min" 😅
Everyone might be cursing our guide and me too 😅,
But that's alright,
For some group members, it was their first ever trek,
So we can understand, how tough it is for them,
We were motivating them, playing some music,
Trance, punjabi, pahari, all kinda music,
Just to keep everyone walking with the music,
Slowly, steadily we finally reached our second camp site,
And wuuhhhuuu that feeling,
I am not finding the right words to explain that,
View from our campsite was heavenly,
Snowy mountains on one side rocky mountains on other,
I mean how magical nature could be,
On my left side's mountain there is absolutely no snow,
And or my right side's mountain, it was full of snow😍.
.
Have you witnessed something this dreamy ever?

HAMPTA PASS TREK 2020
Third day of trek:
It was the best and most exciting day of the trek. We woke up early as instructed by our guide (dev sir) and we started our trek around 7am before the sunrise. We were a group of 15 people and out of 15 only 9 people were going for hampta pass, rest have decided to stay in Jwara and enjoy there. Most of the members were first time trekkers, so we respected their decision and started our journey towards hampta. It was all snowy there and trekking in snow is somewhat time taking rather than trekking in normal season.
We crossed "balu ka gera" in between where we saw footprints of leopard, bear and few others🤐. But we were quite confident that we will reach back to the camp before sunset. But each step was challenging as snow kept increasing and oxygen kept decreasing with height. We took a long halt for lunch and out of 9 we were just 6 ppl who decided to complete the trek and 3 of us decided to trek down to camp dew to some health and other reason.
Now we have already wasted a lot of time there and we were worried if we can reach on time or not but anyways we decided to go up and completing the trek a bit faster. And trust me we were stupid enough to think that we can do that faster because with height for some it wasn't easier to breath for some their body wasn't working well and on the top of that it was snowy and rocky path. But anyhow we managed to reach the top with the help of our two guide's or support system you can say (vijay and vikas). And that feeling of reaching the top after all the struggle, it was something out of the world. After enjoying in the moment we started to trek down we realised that it's sunset is about to happen in few minutes. View was mesmerising there but we knew that it's too damn late, we can't follow the same path to trek down we have to reach early, we have to move fast and it's going to be really dark. And than I suddenly remember those leopard, bear and other footprints 🤦🏻♀️....
To be continued......HAMPTA PASS TREK 2020
Third day of trek: continued part
We were at the top of Hampta pass trek, mesmerized by the sunset I suddenly remember that we need to trek down and it's almost night, no stars were there for help, it was a bit cloudy and all dark.
So now the point is we have to cross certain places where we have seen the footprints of leopard and other wild animals, we have to cross a frozen river, most importantly we were damn exhausted struggling to breathe, can't even feel our legs. It was a do or die situation for us. Either we walk and walk and walk or we are going to be stuck there🤦🏻♀️.
We have decided to take a different and short route but as it was all dark and snowy we can't really see , at some places we were just sliding in the snow, taking long steps, crossing big stones and that fear of animals was still there.
But we were talking, motivating each other, singing, walking in a group. I was not even feeling good ( some health issues, at some points I felt like giving up and just sit there). But everyone was so motivating and they were continuously reminding me that we have to reach our camps anyhow. Walk slow, take a small halt but don't give up. By doing this and that ( girte - padte, ragdte - ghasitte hum pahunch he gye) we were finally able to see our camp, campfire by around 9:30 or 10pm. It was a relief, after asking thousand of time about how far, how far, I was finally able to see a ray of hope. Some of the members from camp were looking for us, finding us or I can say eaglrly searching for us here and there, they were angry, worried all at the same time, but they were finally happy to see us. We sat by the bonfire had our dinner and after a small chit chat, everyone went to bed.
So yeah, it was all worth the struggle, we are safe, alive😅.
Singing that song in mind, "अपना हर पल ऐसा जिओ जैसे की आख़िरी हो।
