Solo trips although not ideal, aren’t always a bad idea..
I found myself doing one in the french alps last month, and I have to admit, it was incredible.
The pictures are from the chamonix area in the french alps. I was holed up in a hut in a remote village called le praz with no electricity, but a sheep skin rug, a fireplace and a bottle of whisky... and I must say.... IT WAS LOVLEY!
Travel tips:
How to get there: fly to Geneva. Buses available daily from the airport to chamonix, although I would suggest renting a car... totally worth it, especially for a group.
When to go: ski season starts in December up to April, however I went in November... advantage: not touristy, peace and CHEAP! Booked a chalet all to myself for 40 euros a night !!
What to do: SKI!
If not, just trekking in the mountains, soul searching, hill gazing... whatever you want to do... it’s incredible peaceful... I went for a bit of a writers retreat and finally managed to finish my screenplay ( pic below- it’s shite and will probably go to my grave with me, but atleast I finished it!!)
Take your camera, cuz you will not be short of grammable moments.
