We stayed at Bali Backpackers in Ubud for the first two days...why??? Because, it was affordable and close to all attractions we planned for Ubud.
We headed to this place at 6:00 am in the morning....yes so early because it gets really crowded post 8am.
We got a scooty for 80IDR just opposite our stay.
Our next destination was Rice Terrace.
They charge an entrance fee of 100 thousand IDR for per person. We bargained and got two for the same price...... Bargain....bargain...that's very important in Bali.
It takes an hour or two to look around....click pictures and to try the swing as well.
The swing was 100 thousand IDR again with as many swings you want and picture with the nest and rice terrace on the backdrop.
The next stop was this place..... I don't remember the entrance fee but every attraction in Bali has an entrance fee to it.
We were given our colorful sarong included in the ticket price on rent.
This place has this holy water where people take a dip and clean their sins. The architecture in Bali is gorgeous every place is damn beautiful.
Nothing much to do in this place apart from the cave and the three river waters connecting here and people dipping on them too.
But again the architecture is gorgeous and so intricate.
Best place to shop for soveneir and dreamcatchers...wow...I went crazy picking them from here.... Again...Bargain...Bargain...
Our guide came to pick us at 2:00am from our stay. We were all set for our MT Batur Trek. We were 6 of us in a cab and it cost us 4k for two people. The rest four in the cab was picked from different hotels.
If you want to get a private car for yourself without sharing the trek is costlier.
We stopped over at a cafe for coffee n tea. That's a good way to wake us up....hahahahahah
We started our trek around 3:00 and it took us 2 hours for the climb.
Trek isn't at all easy and you definitely need to be fit. The path isn't a good one carved out and hence some twists n turns are without any proper base on the ground.
There are two point of the trek. After you reach the first summit you can choose to stay there or move up hill for the final point.
Carry your bottle of water and some eatables and things on top are expensive. They also rent blankets and trust me if your not in your warm clothes you will surely need the blankets.
The view was amazing from top.
From the point we came back around 7:30am and was taken to the coffee plantation, where we tasted the cat poop coffee. It's called the Luwak Coffee very expensive but good taste.
The Mt Batur package included the Coffee plantation visit and hence we got the opportunity to taste several different coffees and see how they are made specially the Luwak Coffee.
We reached our hotel by 9:30am and dozed off for two hours.
And then headed for a 140kms ride from our stay to Gate Of Heaven.
They charge and entrance fee which is on you as much as you want to donate nothing specific neither demanding.
As soon as you enter the place you will see a counter next to your right... Head over collect your token and wait for your turn.
Our number was 452 and it took 2 hours for our turn. Was it worth.... Hell ya.... The experience was definetly worth it.
You get to click 4-5 shots. You hand them your phone and then they do the magic with the mirror.
Post the journey to Lempuyung Temple...we were hell of tired and hence we reached the market place and took a nice spa package which was much needed.
There are plenty on that road and you can go through the brochure as it's places outside and then skip hop and choose the best for yourself.
We had our boat booked from 12goasia.com which was actually cheaper as the others booked in on spot and it was little expensive than ours.
The fast boat says half n hour but it takes an hour n half closely to reach NusaPendia Island.
We had our cabby booked hence we didn't have to wait or look for a ride.
We reached the island and headed for Kelingking beach.
Kelingking Beach is as gorgeous as it can be. No picture or video can justify it's beauty.
There are again two points to the beach.
One where you climb down few steps and reach a place where the picturesque view comes and you click a picture and head back.
Other one is for all the beach lovers and adventure lovers. You trek down the hill all the way to the beach.
The trek is freaky.... tiring and super exhausting and takes an hour to reach the bottom and an hour to climb up.
But once you're there at the beach which is mostly secluded due to the gruesome trek down....it's beauty and cleanliness is at par.
The water is crystal clear and cold. Chilling at the beach with the beer was all we could ask for after the trek down.
There is one shop at the bottom... You can grab some chips and beer.
We then headed to broken beach which was another 45minutes from Kelingking.
You can access the beach but have a nice and chilling view with some coconut water.
This is just next to Broken Beach and not even a 100mts walk.
It was accessible however due to high tide and someone passed away due to the same. It's now blocked and can be seen only from a certain point.
We didn't really like this one.... because it was too crowded and it's a tiny beach with nothing much to do.
It's better to spend more time at the Kelingking Beach and then just spend the sunset at the Crystal Bay.
Our entire journey from the Harbour to all the Four places and hotel drop was 600k IDR.
Our stay at Nusa Penida was beautiful. The view and the sunset from the pool is too notch.
We left the Nusa Penida Island in the morning and left for Canggu.
We reached Sanur Harbour and our driver was there to drop us to our stay at Canggu. It took us 300k IDR.
Canggu is definitely a place for all the cafe lovers....fitness lovers and party killers.
We choose Canggu for our stay as we want to explore Tanah Lot...Seminyak and Ulluwatu in two days.
It's 40kms from our stay and the best time to visit is the evenings as you get to witness the Kecak Dance Fire.
The Kecak Dance is 100k IDR each and entry is 50k IDR each.
Better to be there by 4:30 otherwise you don't get a nice place to sit for the dance show.
We headed to the Tanah Lot Temple in the morning which was 9km from our stay.
You don't have permission to enter the temple hence you go till the bottom of the cave and return.
Evenings we explored the Seminyak lanes and cafes and also the beaches. The beaches are famous for surfing and you can opt for surfing lessons too.
It was like pa pa paradise kind of feeling. Indeed expensive but again worth every penny.
We took a flight to Bali via Kuala Lumpur. We took the cheapest flight available with only Cabin Baggage and a stop over for 10hours at KLIA2. 10hours sounds crazy but it wasn't that crazy too....
We explored the airport....had some great healthy bowls...dozed off and found a cozy corner for ourselves to chill.
We had our pickup organized from the airport as we read about people charging extra if we didnt book prior. Booking the cab was easy as we got it via our stay however if you book from klook.com you might get a better deal too.
Also, you can take a package which includes airport pickup and SIM card which is again very important.
Take Telkomsel as that's the best network in Bali.
