Dubai is a super cosmopolitan city which offers something for every kind of traveler. From beautiful beaches to adventure parks to fancy hotels to natural desert beauty. Everything is right about this city. The moment you step in you sense "luxury" and "comfort". I had a great stay in Dubai for a week and below are few things I will always remember about my trip:
1. Kissing a penguin (At Ski Dubai, Mall of Emirates)
2. Watching sunset in the midst of endless desert (At Desert Safari)
3. Taking a ride on the fastest roller coaster in the world (At Ferrari World)
4. Tasting luxury life (even though just for a day) at Atlantis, the Palm
I would suggest just pack your bags and head to Dubai :D
Day 1: I landed in Dubai late afternoon and was too tired to have a long adventurous day so I decided to check out Mall of Emirates. It was my first experience of luxury Dubai has to offer. It was an amazingly beautiful mall with a ski area (reminded me of Mt.Titlis in Switzerland) and had tons of options for shopping and food. High point of the day: Kissed a penguin (obviously under the supervision of a high talented penguin trainer) at Ski Dubai.
Day 2: Must do activity in Dubai. Was picked up from my hotel by a travel agency in the afternoon, taken to the desert safari and then later to barbeque dinner in the middle of the desert with performances by Dubai artists with camels all around. A true Arab feel this has!! High point of the day: Enjoying sunset in the middle of the desert surrounded by amazing people and delicious food
Day 3: Went to Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall. Both totally worth visiting!! Dubai mall is a shopper's haven, has every possible under brand one can imagine under one roof. Also, endless eating options are available. High point of the day: Watching the fountain show from top of Burj Khalifa. Blissful!
Day 4: Visited indoor amusement park Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi. As you enter the place, you get subtle hints of Italian culture all around. It has decent rides but nothing great except for of course world's fastest roller coaster which goes at a speed of 240 kms an hour (Crazy! I know) High point of the day: 2 rides on THAT roller coaster
Day 4: Visited the mosque in the morning before heading to Ferrari World. It is difficult to describe how beautiful this mosque is (and one of the few in the world where tourists can visit)-- the carpets, the chandeliers, the beautiful water bodies around. Amazing experience.
Day 5 & 6: These were probably the best days of my entire trip. Atlantis is an amazing place to stay with options to dine in 7 different restaurants (I am a big foodie so this is imp to me!!) I loved aquaventure (water park) so much that I went there on each of the days. They have a gazillion rides and some really scary ones at that (Don't miss the "Slytherin"). Also, there have many water species which you can see in 'Lost Chambers'. If I had to visit Dubai again, I will spend more time in Atlantis for sure.
