I love travelling solo, and I am an adventurous person. But doing an adventure on your solo trip needs some serious guts. I can be that kind of crazy sometimes. 😉 not always but yes sometimes.
So, I had planned my trip to Dubai, my first international solo trip. The secret being my friend ditched me on this one and I had to travel alone, but no regrets as I had an amazing time exploring the city. The city of dreams as I would like to call it.
Life itself is and adventure and its legitimate for us to be the adventurers. I have done few adventure sports earlier and next on my bucket list was “SKY DIVING” and what better place than Sky Dive Dubai I could have thought of. I gave it a thought as I was on a solo trip but then I thought this would be like a double adventure and I got all the more excited but my excited turned into horror as I actually jumped out of that plane.
I was all fine until I reached Sky Dive Dubai – Palm Jumeirah, filled the form which said if something happens to my life, I will be solely responsible for it (and I thought big deal, what’s gonna happen to me huuhhhh) and I signed the form. Then they introduced me to my instructor who was going to jump with me and get me a safe landing. My trainer was a very tall firang guy trying to tell me how amazing its gonna be jumping off a plane from 13,000 ft height and having a freefall for 60 sec at a speed of 120 miles/hr.
I was still confident I can do this. And then we got on the plane soaring higher and higher and then every one started jumping off the plane one by one with their instructors and that’s when the panic started and my heart started pounding as if its gonna jump out before me. And then as I jumped off the plane with my instructor it was an overwhelming experience I can still remember, looking down from that height the world looked so tiny and I was having a free fall towards the waters of Palm Jumeirah with the rushing winds on my face I could barely smile for the pictures being clicked.
All I could think of is I hope I survive and that moment my instructor launched the parachute and then the we started flying, it was the most amazing feeling of calmness and tranquility. I was there in the sky flying for almost 7 mins and then we had a safe landing.
This was the best experience I have ever had in my life of feeling overwhelmed, scared, happy and peaceful all at once. It was indeed a memorable experience I would always cherish.
