12 long years, it has been surely been long enough that I left Dubai. I studied there as a kid and eventually shifted to Mumbai, India. As the misty wind touched my skin i was hit by a tsunami of nostalgic reminences. However, i visit as a tourist this time all along with my entire family, nothing seemed much different. Upon reaching on Wednesday we were transported to our hotels to freshen up, Dubai was as usual; in a hustle to compete, in a hustle to serve you the best. I couldn't wait for my journey to start the next day. Our travel agency planned a whole trip of ours, We advanced for a city tour. Wide streets of the city stretched in between huge locks of mountain like buildings, beautifully crafted and skillfully constructed. Nothing that have not seen before, although nothing of it did not make me want to keep my eyes glued to it. My little brothers gawked at there marvel, so did I. Palm Island Drive, Lost chambers Aquarium, Marina Bay, we saw it all. In the evening our coach halted near Dhow Cruise, the place bustled with tourist most of whom were Indians, or so i guessed. As the ship rocked we advanced to towards our dinner, needless to say all of my clan were starving for good meal. We were entertained with varied dancers, kids in the group had a lot of fun, me? umm! not so much. The view outside was mostly dark and dusky, studded with glittering lights of the building like the necklace of the queen. the day went well and during the night I slouched myself on the soft mattresses for a restful sleep.
The might Arabian Desert was our stop the nest morning but before that we had a start with the might heights of Burj Khalifa. Some may despise spending big bucks, as going to the top of Burj may not be inviting enough but as a tourist and prior resident i implore you to witness it all by yourself. It takes you high up in the clouds since the view is a little more breathtaking. one word for the experience would be overwhelmingly marvelous. One is suppose to feel like birds who are stationed at a building for a while. ready to take its next flight. But once you are on the top everything comes to a standstill. Heights will either make you panic or calm you down. My mind picked the latter.
Honestly, Camels are the cutest beings, also my camel had a Beautiful name 'Maha' . She was the darling of my camel-driver, his source of livelihood. Maha gave me a wonderful ride through the desert also did the four wheeler beast though the rough sandy dunes. Our over night stay on the rough yet serene sands of Arabia went beautifully well with the barbecued lamb and their local bread, quite like sheermal. We danced around the bonfire and stragazed the crystal like night sky made my third day my all time favourite. it was a short family trip but it was spent well.
Dubai is more than the city, it is a complete package of glitz, glamour and nature. The neXt time when you go to Dubai, take a halt at the specific places as this city (quite like mumbai) requires to be felt and consumed rather than just seen and appreciated..
