Amidst the pandemonium and hectic working hours, I found a little Island treat located at a distance of 22km from Una, Gujarat. My sojourn in Diu was a delightful amalgamation of culture and history. Diu is all about gorgeous beachscapes, a land of ruins that is fiercely imposing enveloped in the mystical beauty of the sun that made me develop a crush for the Arabian Sea. The remnants of the Portuguese history can be seen here and if you’re lucky you might even be able locate some of its artefacts and inscriptions engraved inside the caves and on the walls of the fort. We applied the notion of time travelling to make our journey seem more interesting. Another great thing about this coastal region is that unlike its dry state neighbour, one can have as many Heinekens and Budweisers here as they want.
