Kanchenjunga is the world third highest mountain, with an elevation of 8,586m. It is situated in the eastern himalayas on the border between Sikkim state, in north eastern India and eastern Nepal, 46miles north west of Darjeeling, Sikkim.

This pictures are special to me because before I took it, I had just spent the night in bus, travelled from Gangtok to Darjeeling at 1.00am. So after a restless, cold and uncomfortable night, it is quite a struggle to wake up at 3.30am to reach tigerhill at 4.15am. I had around 4 to 5 cups of coffee shots to keep myself awake and warm! And just about then dawn approached and the first light of day lit up the majestic kanchenjunga right in front of me.

Fortunate enough to have a clear weather and enjoyed the beauty of Mt. Kanchenjunga. No doubt the place was very crowded and the people were pushing each other to capture the best view in their camera. Anyways all these pain took a backseat when I got the first glimpse of the snow peaks in one side and the orange sun in the other. The sky was clear got to see the entire panorama including Mt. Everest as a tiny peak peeing into the sky. I've had people tell me they prefer sunsets over sunrises on the Himalayas. These are a pictures of a sunrises over Kanchenjunga. All I'm saying is revel in the sublimity of each instead of choosing one over the other.

And that's when I realized that almost anything is worth suffering through for a few moments like these.
