Prague or Praha as called by the locals in Czech, is probably one of the most beautiful cities in this world. This small, romantic town with its cobblestone roads will instantly make you fall in love with the place and you will never want to leave! If you have just 3 days in Prague, you definitely should get your itinerary right to make the most of your time.
If you are solo, or traveling with your friends, search up a good hostel to crash in. I stayed in hostel Santini on the Nerudova Street, which is on the castle side of the city. They offer free breakfast and the rooms are really cute!
Day 1 - Explore the old town
Start your trip with exploring the old town - take a walk down the beautiful Charles bridge and you will find multiple tour guides standing with umbrellas near the clock tower. The ones with the yellow umbrellas offer free city tour - you will get to explore the history of Prague and witness the cathedral, jew ghettos and of course, the old town market.
What to eat while you are city touring? Well, you HAVE TO try the Trdelnik, which is basically a traditional Slovak cinnamon hollow cake. These are sold with Nutella, Ice cream, or as it is and are such a delight to eat!
Also, make sure you go to Puro's, which is a really cute cafe in old town famous for serving the best Gelato is Prague. I had their coffee and croissant because it was freezing outside, but had to try their gelato because I had heard so much about it!
Once you are done exploring the town, it's time to see the night life of Prague. Prague is known for it's crazy party scenes, and while you are in this city make sure to go for the Pub Crawl. There are official pub crawl entities and I chose the Prague Pub Crawl since our hostel had a discount offer on it. It covered pub hopping of 5 pubs across the city and I ended up making some great friends from different nationalities! The parties were crazy af at all the 5 pubs, oh and if I haven't told you the best part yet - Absinthe is legal in Europe! (yay!)
Day 2 - Explore the Castle side of the city
After the pub crawl, you would be pretty sloshed and would need a good 8 hour sleep to get you moving for your Day 2. So tuck in your cosy hostel bed, and get ready by afternoon because next up is exploring the absolutely beautiful prague castle - I took the 2 PM castle tour where we again group up in the old town and take the tram till the castle. The St. Vitus Cathedral with its gothic styled architecture will surely leave you awestruck.
Once you reach the end of the castle premises, you will find yourself at a viewpoint where you can get the birds eye view of Prague with its eye catching red roofs adding to the pretty landscape. Pause, take a moment to let it sink in and realise about how lucky you are to be part of this beautiful world! :)
While you are still walking down in Old town, go try the macaroons in Choco Cafe; they are an absolute delight to have with some good hot cappucino.
As the night falls, make sure to go down the Charles bridge again if you haven't seen the night view already - lights sparkling like stars all over the Vlatva river is a sight you would just not want to miss! Once you reach the other side of the river, witness the magnificent graffiti on the Lennon Wall. Even better, carry some spray paints and add your trace to this historic piece of art!
For dinner, walk up to Malostranska for a fine dining experience and treat your taste buds with the traditional Czech dish - Beef Goulash. Cooked to perfection, it is served with Cranberry sauce marking a perfect end to your day 2!
Day 3 - Wander without a plan!
I feel the perfect way to explore a new city is on foot, and that's what you should do on your Day 3! Now that you are almost done with the tourist sites, relax, bask in the sun in the old town square, and walk down the pretty cobbled streets of Prague where you couldn't go for the past 2 days. Witness the astronomical clock when an hour completes. Indulge in some shopping at Palladium, a shopping mall located right at the centre of Prague. Click as many pictures as you can because it's your last day in one of the most beautiful cities!
As the sun sets, walk up to the Strahov Monastery to spend your evening drinking some delicious blueberry beer. Confused? Yes you read it right, the Strahov Monastery has an inbuilt microbrewery serving about 10 variations of St. Norbert beer, my favourite being the blueberry beer they served. The restaurant has a cosy set up in a cave with the perfect candle light ambience that you need for a romantic evening.
Once you have your tummy (and heart) full, walk up to the Petrin Lookout Tower, also known as the Eiffel tower of Prague. Though the Petrin park closes in the evening, the reason I recommend this at night is because on your way up to the tower, you will experience a breathtaking view of the complete city of Prague. You can capture this very beautiful picture in your mind and cherish it forever, because who knows when you'll get to visit Prague next! :)
