One important attraction of Ooty is the mountain train, while Munnar doesn't have anything like that to boast of. Ooty is a better town and provides better facilities compared to Munnar. The nearest rail head for Munnar is Alwaye / Angamaly and is around 110KM away. Cochin is the nearest airport to Munnar, while Coimbatore is the one for Ooty.
