You can drive yourself via Mysore it will be a 280 km journey.
You may get the chance to visit bandipur national park,masinagudi and then the queen of hills (Ooty).

If you are planning for a weekend, then you can go by bus. The KSRTC Volvos are very comfortable and safe. There are buses from Shanti Nagar which starts after 10 pm and reach Ooty in the morning around 9 am.
You can spend Saturday and Sunday around Ooty and take the return bus on Sunday night. Important places in Ooty

Hi, as far as I know there are no direct buses from airport to Ooty. So first you have to reach any bus terminal like madiwala or majestic. Then you can easily get direct buses to Ooty from there.
The are buses from airport to mysore. and from mysore its a 3/4 hours journey. buses are easily available. u can also book bus from mysore to ooty in ksrtc site.
