Being a photographer I can only give one tip that don't rush to take photos and selfies. Be in the moment, enjoy the view and feel with your own eyes. Without feeling that whole view and environment you can't even take a good photograph.
Don't be touristy, be a traveller.. Pack light, hitchike, try local food, talk to the locals, have an open mind, capture memories more than pictures and don't plan everything so you can have the best wandering experience.
Plan your itinerary. Search a lil on net before boarding so that you get the insights of the place and your interests there. Get yourself indulged into local stuff of the place to feel connected and to enjoy the place in a more real and deep way. Interact with the natives and try to capture the uniqueness so that you will never forget the newness that you encountered. Travel Must!
Be it mountains or the beaches or somewhere in between, i take care of a few important parameters :
1. Check the weather report
2. Watch the news about the place
3. Pack light if you're carrying a backpack
4. Raincoats if its monsoon
5. Local transports are cheap and mostly fun
6. A few common phrases in local language But that ONE tip would be,
Don't think much before taking a step. Who knows that might be the best experience you'll ever get.
Research First. Roam Next. It’s always good to research about a place and prepare a travel itinerary before visiting the place. Every small things count - be it tickets, places to visit, camera & accessories, maps, weather, hotels, camping sites, etc. Also PlanB in case if there is a change in plan due to certain circumstances. Always Be Prepared For The Unexpected. Enjoy the moment and also capture memories.
Don't worry about roads routes destination just enjoy travelling. World is beautiful just keep your eyes and mind open and embrace the joy. And do what your heart say that will give you unique experience.
Put down your mobile phone and put up your excitement. Carry separate gadgets like mp3 player for songs, camera for clicking pictures, etc rather than carrying one mobile phone.
"Be a Roman when you're in Rome" - Try their local cuisines rather than searching for ours. Roam, Explore and Get Lost!
Pack light weight. Do carry your own water bottle rathar than purchasing plastic bottles. Roll up clothes instead of folding them. Carry trek stick while trekking on Mountains, it will support you. Carry small medi kit as well as personal care kit as life is unpredictable you may need them anytime.
Always befriend locals. They are your window to unexlpored places and experiences that no amount of blogs or videos can provide you. Stay in local homestays, eat local food and talk to as many people you can, be it your driver, that uncle at the paan shop or that aunty selling you coconut water. Know the people to know a place.
Pack your bags , take your best friend with you(or going alone will also do),don't decide any destination, just go with the flow ,it will take you to a good place for sure and keep listening 'Hairat ' from Anjana Anjani on the way

Wherever you go, go with all your heart, enjoy the culture of that place, cherish and love the every moment of life and the beauty of nature. Do strange things with weird people. Remember that happiness is a way of how we travel, not a destination...
Once you reach destination keep your phone away as much as possible.Live the moments.Do take photos as memories.Connect with surroundings ,connect with nature.Dont be into social media while travelling.Keep exploring and enjoying.
You need to be open heart, be curious, be humble, be respectful, be energetic, be careful, and enjoy everything what comes in the way. Best of luck and travel more so that you won't need tip😉.
