It is all year around.But I would suggest monsoons and winter as summer is over crowded and you won't be able to enjoy this beautiful place.

The best time to visit the town is from March to June, and possibly in October as well. For the snow lovers, a trip can be planned from late November onwards. Monsoon season can, however, lead to occasional road blockages, and hence is an option viable only for budget travelers.

Summer is the best time to visit Nainital. April to June is ideal to visit Nainital to escape from hot summers. But in June this place becomes over crowded and you can also experience occasional showers. I would like to suggest you to visit in the months of April and May, where you can enjoy the cool breeze and do your sightseeing happily. Happy travelling :)
