If landing in Colombia felt numb sitting on the motorcycle and downshifting to the first gear was an emotion which I can't put it into words. I was crying! We are actually doing it. We had a dream and that's it after many months here we are living it (we still don’t know how)! No clue of what’s ahead of us or what is about to happen in the next mile and the unheard tales of many people we are yet to meet!
The true adventure begins here with this downshift.
It was much more than just being a free bird and being inspired by the grand changing landscapes. It was always about the people you travel. I rode out. I am smiling but also thinking about all my loved ones back home. My girlfriend, my family and my friends really wished I could bring them here. You would always want them to feel and be a part of you when something overwhelming is happening to you. I wanted to take some stories back for them.
There were varied emotions. Everyone said be scared of cops equally as they were notorious for asking for money and never ride in the dark or camp in the middle of nowhere.
But you see we were searching for stories, I remember this one night we were camping by a beach and Sukesh and I were talking about how cool it would be if we get kidnapped by the Farks (the left extremists) so we get some publicity some brands might put money because of that and we have cool story for our film. haha
After the first 100 kms after all these emotions my bike had the first puncture and Sukesh went to get a mechanic to fix it! While I was standing there on the road talking to locals eating ice cream and having an absolute fun time.
While the mechanic was fixing the bike Sukesh and I were discussing how the bike is performing and how brilliant the throttle response is! I was thinking to myself what a good idea it was to carry the Castrol Power1 cans with me from home as it definitely helped us in this trip and we can already feel the power in the acceleration while cruising! It is going to be fun to hit some trails in the coming weeks to see how the bikes hold up in those conditions. I already have a good feeling about this because these bikes are meant to be performing really well in these terrains.
After all the stops and fixing the puncture we made it to our first camp ground for the night and slept by the coast of Colombia overlooking the ocean on a full moon night just listening to the sound of the wave which was putting us to sleep.
Next day we start riding to Punta gallinas which is the northernmost point of South America which is a unique place where you can find desert with the ocean by the side of it.
This is once in a lifetime experience and we are living an absolute dream
