Trip to Macau- The Vegas of East! Belos Tempos!

Very few cities can boast of being truly luxuriously ultramodern, and Macau stands really tall in that list. Even though Macau might seem like a small place, there is so much to see and experience here, and one will find it hard to fit everything into their itinerary. he city is exquisitely blingy. There are not just world heritage sites, but also spots that defy modernism. While there are plenty of temples and churches, there are also gardens and beaches and casinos. Given that Macau used to be a colony of the Portuguese, there are many buildings that show a definite influence of their architectural style, especially reflected in few churches. One must definitely visit the Ruins of St. Paul's, Chapel of St. Francis Xavier, St. Dominic's Church and St. Lawrence's Church. The Portuguese also left their influence as several forts and barracks, which might not be occupied today, but definitely tell the tale of bygone eras. Mount Fortress, Barra Fort and Guia Fortress were all built to ensure complete protection of the people of Macau. The city is not just about the old places, as there are many attractions to explore. There are also plenty of gardens to see, and these range from ones that are distinctively British in their layout, to ones that speak of Chinese culture. Travellers holidaying in Macau should also prepare for gastronomic delights. Not only one gets to try out Chinese but also dishes from around the world, including those from Portugal, Malaysia and India. This is truly an international destination that the global travellers should not miss visiting.

The itinerary for our trip to Macau was:

Day - 1 - Arrive Hong Kong - Macau

We Arrived at Hong Kong International Airport from Delhi. From Hong Kong immigration we directly headed towards Pier to board the ferry directly to Macau. The best part was that the luggage was directly checked in and the process was totally hassle free.

Arriving in Macau, Post Immigration board, we took the hotel shuttle and reached our hotel 'The Grand View'. We Checked-In at the hotel and rested for the night. The view from the hotel window was gorgeous, and the hospitality was a great 

We had an Overnight visit to the Venetian Mall and casino from our hotel by taxi.

Day - 2 - Macau

Next morning after Breakfast at the hotel, we proceeded for a City Tour of Macau. We were charmed by the Chinese and the Portuguese heritage embraced in the arrays of modernized architecture. We saw the ruins of St. Pauls, Mount Fortress, Senado Square, St. Dominics Church, A-Ma Temple, Rua De Cunha, Taipa Houses, Kun I am Statues, Fishermans Wharf. 

We also visited Macau Tower  watched there  jumps and proceeded for Indian lunch.  View from  Macau Tower was absolutely breath-taking. Though I was running fever the sights immediately cheered up my mood and I was super happy. The only regret was that I couldnt go for bungee jumping.

Next day After breakfast at the hotel we headed for shopping.  Back home we had lunch and Checked out, took the hotel shuttle to the pier, board your ferry to Hong Kong.  All in it was a refreshing trip on long weekend of 15th August.
