"#20ThingsILoveAboutMacao
Honestly, when I came across this concept of writing ‘20 Things I love about Macao’, the first thing I did was heading towards the Macao tourism website to know more about Macao and that’s when I realised that there’s so much more to Macao than just the tourist spots. The 20 thing’s that I’d personally love to do in Macao are:
1) Macao is much more than the tourist spots. There’s culture, traditions, and history that made these tourist spots and I’d love to learn, understand, and know the culture, tradition and history. I’d love to know how these places were formed and what made these places so significant. Let’s admit, knowing about the culture and tradition just adds on to the beauty of a place.
2) Personally, I love going the local way. Nothing beats the beauty that the local places have. Local food, local commute, local shops, and local adventure is something that I’d love exploring.
3) I’m a sucker for capturing the beauty and essence of people, places, stories, culture and everything else in pictures and words. This is another thing that I’d really love to do: capturing the beauty and essence of Macao in my words and pictures.
4) Do you really call a trip, ‘the trip’ without interacting with the people of that place? Well, I wouldn’t. Because there’s so much that people have to share and so much for us to take back, so I’d definitely love interacting with people and take back with me the stories of Macao.
5) Religious and spiritual places and theories really interest me. That’s something I would never stop admiring and talking about and that’s something I’d never stop being curious about. While going through the Macao tourism website, I saw this section on Taipa Village. Strolling and walking through the lanes of the district and witnessing the culture and history and the old village life of Macao is something I’d really look forward to.
6) Another aspect that caught my attention was the “Macao Aquatic Trek”. How often do we come across aquatic treks? Not often, right? So I’d surely not miss a chance to give this a try.
7) Ice Skating! I’ve just enjoyed watching people ice skate in movies and stories. So learning something new and having fun while at it is an activity one cannot miss and one can make the most of this at the Future Bright Amusement Park.
8) Cycling through the Taipa Island and Coloane Island is the best recreation ever and I sure would love the bicycle tours.
9) I love beaches! Being a beach baby, I would absolutely love the open air swimming which is adjoining the Cheoc Van Beach. Also, sailing, jet-skiing, BBQ food, at the Hác-Sá Beach (which is Macao’s popular beach) would really be fun.
10) Visiting the iconic Tree of Prosperity! Ever had a chance to witness a golden tree with over 2,000 branches and 98,000 leaves comprising 24-karat gold leaf and brass leaf? Well, Macao tourism has this beautiful symbol of auspiciousness and they make sure that guests have a memorable experience with the Tree of Prosperity performance.
11) Ever been greeted with Majestic Golden Dragons? The Sky Cab is a fun ride wherein one is greeted with Golden Dragons with light effects and it’ll surely be fun being a part of it.
12) I would also love to receive the blessings bestowed upon the visitors by the numerous coloured shards designed by Jeremy Railton at the Wishing Crystal on the East Promenade of Galaxy Macao.
13) I am a hugee fan of movies and art! The Macau Tower, Cineteatro Macau, Cinema Alegria and UA Galaxy cinemas screen have it all covered and they screen some special art and classic movies that I’d love to watch!
14) Who would not enjoy reaching the top of Eiffel Tower in 40 seconds and enjoying the best view of Macao and Cotai Strip? I would absolutely love watching the light show and admiring this beauty located at the Parisian Macao.
15) Macao sure has the best entertainment services for all it’s visitors. The House of Dancing Water is one of the best water-based shows directed by Franco Dragone and viewing it would be one of the best experiences I can have in Macao.
16) All of us love gaming, don’t we? Macao Tourism has taken care of our gaming experience too and the best part is that you can experience playing ‘Pacapio’, a traditional game introduced in Macao in the late Qing Dynasty and I would really love trying my hand at this!
17) Macao has the world’s first flight simulation ride themed around DC Comics Super Hero, ‘Batman’ named, the ‘Batman Dark Flight’ and who would not love having this exciting, fun, adventurous, and thrilling experience? I would absolutely lovee it!
18) Another activity that I am sure I’d love is watching Pandas and other animals at the, ‘Macao Giant Panda Pavilion’ and also taking back a souvenir from their gift shop located within.
19) I would also really love indulging in a variety of distinctive cuisines in Macao. Portugese, Chinese, Japanese- name any and you’ll find them here. ????
20) Every trip is just incomplete without shopping! So shopping for local and creative products of Macao at the Ruins of St. Paul’s District, Taipa Old Village, Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro, and many more such local places is really a fun and an exciting idea!
Macao is indeed a package of cultural, historical, fun, adventurous, art, entertainment and magical experiences and these are just 20 of the many exciting, thrilling, and adventurous that I would really really love experiencing in Macao and are definitely up on my list!"
