In Chiang Mai, you can find a group of Mr. know-it-all who go out for a food named “funny” on weekend, and in this weekend they will take me along.
Actually I didn’t know where the destination was but only heard the Mr.-know-it-alls talking about how great the weekend would be, so I chose to believe them. Finally early in the morning, I packed my luggage and went on the mysterious trip. On the way to the destination, we were so happy that the car could no more lock our laughter and the world seemed to be infected.
We stopped in the central plaza to prepare food for the trip. To us, there must be something to be bought so that we could leave satisfactorily, such as meat, vegetables, drinks, fruit and snacks. With so colorful food in the car, we were full of happiness. Anyway, we began our trip again.
Bumps along the way, I forgot how long it took to reach the destination but we finally got there in the afternoon. A place like this must have all the yearnings for nature so it could have such pure scenery. It was a blue sky that you couldn’t find the edge, with some clouds floating and green hills standing. All this beautiful things made people to admire with respect.
Standing on the bank covered with red earth, it was difficult to stop wondering where the earth came from. There was only one doubt that it was the spirits from the bottom of the lake transported them since the mountains around were covered by trees.
I thought this was where we were going but Sussi stopped a boat. Then we boarded the ship. It was the early summer, the lake wind were fresh. The wind cooled the summer and whiffled the girls’ hair.
The stretching mountains surrounded us, only leaving a narrow channel. When the boat passed, the waves came. Between the hills, there were houses on the wide water. The passageways linked the houses. Both the passageways and the houses were floating on the water.
Thought about that we could live on the water for two days, everybody was so excited to jump off the boats and rushed to rob the rooms. I couldn’t get over with them, so I robbed the most luxurious one. Queen-size bed, French sash and an aeolian bell danced with the wind, I decided to live here forever.
The size of the bed is far less big than the joy of swim, let alone in the summer without air-conditioner. Taking a swim is so wonderful. In center of the lake, I had a feeling of conquering the world. The wide and calm lake, the immense sky and the rolling hills, all of them were stopped.
Inside the house, they had begun to barbecue, the smell of the meat floating through half of the lake and caught me. Followed the smell, I swam back and joined them. Meats were lying on the gridiron and been rolled carefully, and the sauce was evenly distributed on every inch of the meat.
But cooked meats were not enough to feed our hungry stomach, so we ordered food from the restaurant nearby and it was unexpectedly delicious. It was the fishes of the lake, and you could eat with the special Thai sauce to taste the original flavor or dipped sauce to taste fishes of Thai flavor. Yummy!
During the talking when we eating, I knew it’s the Mae Ngad reservoir which was unknown by people outside of Chiang Mai. Sometimes, the beautiful sceneries were like the inherences of the characters of Pride and Prejudice, which others didn’t know and the insiders won’t say.
The conversation lasted late and nobody wanted to stop. In the end, I gave up the thought of living here because it was the colorful of life that made the casual happiness special. If always living such special life, people will ignore its beauty.
