Hello traveller's.
I'm excited to share my first post here. So I've been to Thailand recently and Thailand is an awesome place for not just night life but also to explore scenic places. I've been to Thailand recently a week ago. Luckily the visa on arrivals is free now till April 2020. I've been to Bangkok and Chiang Mai. I could have easily covered Pattaya also but didn't choose to do it. I stayed in Chiang Mai for longer instead. I met so many people from different countries and made friends with them in Chiang Mai. Which made me wanna stay there more longer.
It was my first international solo trip.
I would like to say please don't waste money on expensive hotels unless you're going with friends ( because you can share expenses) otherwise if it's a solo trip then hostels are the best. I've stayed in hostels which costed me from 300 baht to 150 baht. I've gone there for 5 days n 5 nights visit. I've travelled in the night sleeper bus that way I saved money for the stay as well.
I'm a vegetarian. In Thailand you get awesome food everywhere. Local street food is amazing . But even for vegetarians you get a plenty of good food. I've found a restaurant called taste from heaven for vegetarians n vegans in chaing mai. Which was my favourite. When you visit Chiang Mai. Don't forget to visit elephant retirement park. That's were you get to feed the elephants and give them mug massage and also give them bath. It was so much fun. I felt so bad saying goodbye to the elephants. They're so friendly and intelligent.
Most important thing, you are not allowed to wear shorts when you visit any temples another thing is to get your currency exchanged here in India itself. That way you are more benefited. Never get the currency exchanged at the airport there, as you end up getting very amount in your hands. You can take the local number of Thailand in the airport itself, which will cost you 299 baht and be in touch with anyone back home. Check for the distance of the places you want to visit and sometimes the locals see that you are a Traveller and will charge you more. You need to show them the distance and make them lower the prices for transport. Don't forget to try thai massage. That was the best.
I went to Thailand at the right time. There was this full moon festival and I saw lanterns everywhere. It was so beautiful. That's how I ended up spending more time in Chiang Mai. I don't plan much and go with my gut and stay where I feel like staying more. I met many people and I loved every minute of my time spent there.
