Chitrakoot is near to Prayagraj, you can directly take a bus or train from here, if you are in Lucknow so you can book train ticket directly to Chitrakoot and the journey will be approx 6-7 hours from Lucknow.
Here are lots of stays but I suggest you to stay at least one day in a dharmshara you'll get next level of experience also the food from the dharmshalas are amazingly made by pure ghee .
You won't get any alcohol & meat in the entire city. Now if I talk about the pricing so let me tell you this is the most cheapest place with quality time.
Let see which are the must see places to visit in Chitrakoot
Maihar- It is almost 50-60 kms far from Chitrakoot but the place is really amazing, here is a temple of Devi on the hill after 1000stairs, very refreshing view from the top.
Ramghat- The most visited place in Chitrakoot is Raamghat, river ganga flows here with the name of Mandakini.
Kamadgiri parvat- There is a big hill named Kamadgiri and people have lots of faith in this, they use to take circle out of complet hill and its around 5kms of circle.
Gupta Godavari- Gupta Godavari is the combination of two caves in a same hill one is upper and second is lower cave. Upper cave is dry and almost 500meters long but in the opposite the second cave is fill with almost 2-3 foot of water and almost 1km long narrow cave.
Hanuman dhara- It is also on the top of another hill, you have to climb almost 800-1000 stairs. Here is the statue of Hanuman ji and miraculously one stream of water directly hit his left arm from nowhere, nobody even knows that from where it is coming.
Rishi Sarbhanga Ashram- This place is still untouched, you have to cross the jungle for reaching here and you will get pure authentic vides here. Just go and get lost in the nature, you will get so much peace on this place.
