This is an old image of Madku Dweep, a beautiful island situated near the silent river, Shivnath, in the Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh. The name Madku stems out from the fact that the island is of the shape of a frog (Medhak in Hindi). Apart from its spell-bounding water bodies, this island is also famous for its ancient temples and their historical and archaeological importance.
In Indian temples coconuts tied in a red cloth (also called Chunri) hanging on railings, temple gates or tress is a common sight. People who undertake a vow (called Mannat in Hindi) for the fulfillment of their wish go to temples and tie a coconut in red cloth once their wish is granted. It is their way of offering gratitude to God or Goddess for the fulfillment of their desire. These surreal images are from a Hindu temple in Bilaspur.
