Arrival and Local Sightseeing Start your journey early in the morning to reach Chaukori by afternoon. The drive from Kathgodam to Chaukori is about 8-9 hours, but the scenic beauty en route will make it worth the journey. Once you reach Chaukori, check-in to your hotel, I was staying at Hari Om Homestay it was good and cheap . You can start your local sightseeing by visiting the famous Mahakali Temple, which is located in the heart of the town. The temple is dedicated to the goddess Kali, and it's believed that the temple has been there since the time of the Mahabharata. After visiting the temple, you can head towards the Patal Bhuvaneshwar Cave, which is about 30 km from Chaukori. The cave is a natural wonder, and it's believed to be one of the entrances to the underworld. After exploring the cave, return to your hotel and enjoy a bonfire and dinner under the starry sky.
Trekking and Adventure Activities
After a delicious breakfast, get ready for a day full of adventure and trekking. Chaukori is surrounded by several trekking trails, and you can choose one depending on your fitness level and preferences. The most popular trek in Chaukori is the Khalia Top trek, which takes about 4-5 hours to complete. The trek offers stunning views of the Himalayas and is perfect for beginners. The most hidden trek among them is Shikhar-Bhanar Trek ,which is at an elevation of 4000m .The place has its own history and significance .The panoramic view of Nanda Devi ,Nandakot, Panchachuli,Rajrambha and other peaks is what makes this trek so beautiful.After the trek, you can indulge in some adventure activities like rock climbing, rappelling, and zip-lining. You can also visit the nearby tea estates and learn about tea cultivation and processing. Return to your hotel in the evening and enjoy a hot cup of tea while soaking in the serene beauty of the valley.
Relaxation and Nature Walks
On the last day of your trip, take a break from all the adventure and spend a day relaxing in the lap of nature. Start your day with a yoga session or meditation to rejuvenate your mind and body.
