It seems that dinner at revolving restaurants is a passé! For new experience seekers, the world seems to be providing newer and way more innovative options.
According to news reports, City Beautiful, Chandigarh, may soon have a first-of-its-kind mid air restaurant at a height of 165 ft!
The administration of the most planned city of India, is mulling over this idea to promote tourism opportunities to the city. This restaurant, if implemented, will offer 180 degree views of the beautiful city, and the Shivalik hills in the distant, making it an experience to savour forever.
It is reported to have a capacity to accommodate 24 people at a time, and the deck will hang from a crane at a height of 165 ft.
UT officials were quoted as saying, that the project will encourage more tourism activities in the city. Three locations have been said to be under consideration for the project – Sukhna Lake, Leisure Valley in Sector 10, and Kaimbwala Village. However, the final decision is yet to be made, and will have considerations on ecology of the chosen site.
According to the company that aims to bring this concept to Chandigarh, the safety of the diners is assured, owing to the structure being secured by aircraft standard safety belts. Also there will be age and height restrictions for the people who will be allowed. Though the pricing is yet to be finalised, it is expected to be in the range of Rs 2,500 – Rs 4,000 per person. The visitors may be allowed in batches of 25 for a 40-minute experience.
The concept is supposed to have been implemented in Bangalore already, at FlyDining, a deck with a huge dining table in the middle and 22 chairs around goes up 160 feet in the air.
